Bandit attacks of outpost frequency.

The bandits and friends attack too often for my taste. I cant do anything but fight them off. I finish mobbing one group up and another is on the way or beating down my door. It got to the point where my game slowed down and then finally gave up (when the hungry bandits couldn't get in.) because there were so many dead and dying bandits (and 5 cannibals) on the ground. I wasn't having troubles keeping my people up 15 of them are rather tough and the other 5 are working on it. Although I feel that I may be overwhelmed soon. I love this game and I can't wait to see the ability to increase my faction. I just wanted to post this concern because I am trapt inside my base at low production rate.
I have the opposite problem. I'd kind of like to kill more things. I think I may build another settlement closer to the cannibal villages after a while. After all, bandit frequency seems to depend a lot on location. Ner Brink I get attacked a lot, but not so much in Catan.
Yeh might have something to do with location. i dont get attacked much anymore either but i cant tell if its because the guards are picking them off on the way to my base or not but the holy nation group that wanders around goes through the routes the bandits use. and i ckecked the guards stats and they are way higher now then before. Think i am going to migrate north to.
well, came here lookin' to see if anyone else was having this issue as well.
I'm not sure it has anything to do with location.
Before the update I wasn't getting attacked as frequently.
Afterwards however, I find myself restarting often from a save because the frequency of attacks is so much that my peeps are getting killed off.
They barely have time to recover before there's another warning of an incoming wave of attack.
Is there anyway to change this in the game files?
I'm sure the dev won't change this voluntarily as many people may like the challenge.
I for one agree it's harsh in the desert, but jeezus...this is ridiculous.

the game has a npc squad population slider, you can adjust it from there but not the frequency of the raids.iDisOrder wrote: Is there anyway to change this in the game files?
Current version does have a reduced frequency of raids from v0.62.0
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?
Oh heavens no.

Its not so much the frequency of attacks that's the issue for me, more the fact that all it takes to get noticed by anyone is to build a mine and 'BAM!' instant groups of bandits demanding payment. Hell, haven't even set up an outpost and already getting hustled. Its amazing how even when there is 'NO ONE' around the instant u start building you've been 'noticed' by bandits or cannibals. And within seconds there's a group of each yelling out at you to come get hustled for your money or gutted like a fish. Even building in the most remote, barren and uninhabited regions of the map the bandits clairvoyance is epic.
I am a Gamer. Not because I have no life. But because I choose to have many.
Personaly I wish there was a better way to attract them. I started to attack merchants that pass by because of the fact that the bandits no longer show up. Used to be that they would show up every once in a while in big hords now it is a few of them if any. Then again it can take hours of play to get them to show up. Usualy have to send my fastest runner out to go and drag them back to my base.
Granted my base is close by I think the town is called Eyesocket. But when I first started it was a non stop hord of them coming by. I even set up a saloon in side my walls with rum and bread hopping to attract there attention.
Also start to attack the merchants because they would walk by my open gate and not even do buisness with me. Figured I might as well use them for something if they will not stop by and trade.

You must of started out in hard mode or something. I start out with the one option were you and some friends decide to strike out on ur own. It is the one were you get the old soldier. It is supposed to be easy/hard. You will get nocked around some at first because you start out in the harder areas. But keep the old soldier light and free to run if you have to and he will keep you alive. Then once you get down south find an area to set up camp research ur basic walls and after that things will get easier.

that happens throughout the game.iDisOrder wrote:well, i stopped playing since I couldn't stay alive long enough to play the damn game lol
my current game i have a 4 female squad, 3 have stats in the 20's and one in the 60's and i get my tush handed to me on a regular basis.
best thing for you to do is stay away from cannibals for now. and stick around the cities. you will still get your tush hanned to you but least the guards will help you fight. so you most likely won't die.
Make sure you have medkits and more than 1 person in your squad.
Going solo is not for beginners.

ive got my town north of capan :p and i rarely get attacked by anything :p...
the bandits either get stuck on mountains or never even get to my outpost...
So i think its location based coz i would like to have constant battles..
instead of my caged super villains on which my awesome superheroes train :p
But i can imagine these attacks are pretty hard to fend of if ur just starting :p
1s u have the awesome stuff u gonna wish there where more attacks
Now 2 chars can take the whole bandit squad out :p can do it with 1 but thats risky...

Yeah out were you are there smiley you do have guys with higher attack stats. I am back near Eye socket were the Dust bandits are at about 8 or so. So them been the strongest are no match after a little training and using your gates to let them in then hold half back while ur squad takes care of the first group.
But now I have 2 base war madens I call them that are in heavy samari armor one with an attack of 50 and the other in the lower 30s that pretty much take on what ever comes.
An then my war squad have the lowest attack in the mid 30s going up over the 40s and my big guy with the plank. Haven his attack at 42 well have to be carful in the pit with him. He tends to kill ppl pretty fast. One hit and they lose an arm or a leg another and there stomich is in the minus 200 and they are dead. Lol when the bandits do attack not many survive him and make it to the cages. An those that do make it to the cages but run away from the attacks go up against him and if they live they get time to learn if not one less coward in the pit.
