I've always been wondering this, and it's not something that NEEDS to be in the game, but would really make skill levels stand out from each-other.
Do you plan on adding any kinds of finishing move animations to the game? Such as if a very skilled character has, say, a starving bandit totally outclassed. During combat, they may have a chance to finish them for good by either exploiting an opening or just using their enemy's injuries to their advantage. They do something that looks unique, depending on what weapon they're using, what weapon their opponent is using, as well as the injuries both characters have.
Like I said, this doesn't really need to be in the game, but would look satisfying. Somebody's probably already mentioned it, but I'm posting this more as a question than a suggestion. A positive advantage to having finishing moves of some description is to give a character a way to finish off an enemy that's running away, as opposed to running up behind them before winding up an overly dramatic swing that misses them by 15 feet.
And like I said, someone probably already mentioned something like this. I'm just curious about the developer's opinion on it.

Search "finishing move"
yes it has been suggested before. but i don't think it will be as complex as you explained above.

I'm actually against flourishes in combat. But in terms of "finishing moves", my vision of it is more based on the realistic scenario where people who won the battle leave behind some fighters to finish off their enemies who are too wounded to be moved and execute the stragglers.
In Kenshi, this can be translated to having an option to "end" the knocked out enemy after the fight. Kind of like how the Gothic series handles murdering neutral parties (you can't kill them by defeating them, killing immediately only works on hostile parties. You have to personally finish off neutral enemies).
So basically after a fight with hungry bandits, while everyone is bandaging up, one of your guys go around sticking his sword (or his spear, or swings down his plank) on the incapacitated enemies and prematurely end them before they naturally die of blood loss.

My plan was to just throw unconscious people into the upcoming body furnace. Burn them alive in a truly sinister style whilst laughing manically.CookieEatingHuskarl wrote:I'm actually against flourishes in combat. Not quite practical for mid desert combat. Unless you're planning to have a full time mule who carries building materials for you to set up your own middle-o-nowhere furnace.Hopesfire wrote: My plan was to just throw unconscious people into the upcoming body furnace. In that situation I would rather strip them and run off - they wont be a threat when they awake and its enjoyable thinking about the sun burn they shall receive.CookieEatingHuskarl wrote:Not quite practical for mid desert combat.
