Has anyone gotten automatic hauling to work when base building in 0.7x?

I've got stone mines with full outputs but the miners won't move anything to storage or the processor, the processor has an empty input but the workers won't grab from the mines or storage box, and haulers assigned to the storage boxes won't do anything. Base builders also won't grab building materials on their own.

I've gotten tired of micromanaging all the inventories, any tips? I've tried rebuilding navmesh, save/loading, and exiting and restarting game.

Sadly,at this time, your pretty much stuck microing.

I have a single autohaul that works on its own all the time,no messing around required, but only that 1.Its steel rods. The steel rods storage is right next to the production,so its an extremely short nav,and theres only 1 production and one storage for each, and i think thats why it works.

Ive had luck with other autohauls in which the production was right next to the storage, rum and bread for example. The production is mere feet away from the storage, and again 1 production,1 storage.

I have mixed results for plate, which again has only 1 production and only 1 storage, but is much father apart.

I have gotten auto-haul to work between a stone mine and processor, but it was pretty finicky.

I have a man assigned to do nothing but haul to stone storage, and the storage is placed so close to the mine that he can haul from the mine to the storage without moving. The stone processor is placed just on the other side of the storage, and the two operators had only the operate machine job on the processor. They would not automatically grab the stone from the mine, even though it's close, but they were willing to get it from the storage, which was about half the length of the processor away from them. It all works fine, though sometimes on reload they need a push to get started.

Right next to the stone storage is a building materials storage, which the processor operators will sometimes use, but not always. The engineer will grab her materials from the processor directly from just about anywhere, so this isn't super important to me right now; we're in the early building phase where you easily use materials faster than you can make them. If it comes to it, the storage and processor are close enough that I might just put another non-moving hauler in place to fix things.

So the AI for hauling seems to be intact, in the sense that they know what to do and they are willing to do it. The problem seems to be related to pathfinding. A lot of time when someone got stuck, all I had to do was move them - anywhere - and they would continue their task. Perhaps moving them made them recalculate their path? I don't know. But the process does work if you minimize movement.

I get that a lot but ctrl+shift+F11 always fix the problem and some times just moving the assigned member for even one step will jump start him.

I never had this issues when I played Kenshi last, which was 2013 but now Ai unresponsiveness is much worse then it was.

I have, make sure your storage crates are on the far side of things that might need resoruces such as iron ore or steel. Auto haul labors prefer the closest acceptable inventory with space and crates have infinite space.

Make sure the "front" of the workshop isn't blocked and that your games path finding is working properly and all of the usual troubleshooting that involves.

And if that fails dismantle both the producing and consuming structures and re build them.

For what i saw , "Auto-Haul" works only with the output with objects like stone processor or stone mine , and will try to stock everything in output if you assign to stockage (exemple : Will go to well if you assign to water tower)

Got a Stone mine IX and a Stone Processor V.
Done an automation of Stone Mine , Stone Processor , Building Material Storage. Took a guy , Priority 1 order ; Auto-Haul Stone Mine . Priority 2 : Auto Haul Stone Processor. The guy take everything he can from Mine , then go to the nearest point , the Processor, to unload . Then he do a check to see if Mine have produced. If yes he return unload the mine. If no , he take materials and bring it to storage.

Went look for a film , came back 3h later , got 430 building material in storage and 60 spare stone in storage too , so well it seems to work for me.

(This issue must have already been notated, but I really don't know what to search for to check, so sorry for advance)

There's a huge economic issue with automatic machinery; It's not automatic.

I have to manually fill my dude's backpack with iron ore.
Manually take the ore out of my backpack into my inventory then close the backpack
Then manually fill the refinery with ore.
Repeat until refinery then get max bars.
Manually take bar and repeat.

Shift right click on buildings and storage units do not help at all. Units will just mine more and store ore forever and ever. Btw I found out it's better to not get the automatic ore pit, becasue you'll have to manually take the ore and store it yourself.

Really though you should be posting this in the bug forum.

IIRC you have your people auto haul the boxes and not the machines. This will make them get loot from the source and fill their box. Have a guy that manages the stone processor just do that. They should get stone from the mine on their own if it is near the processor. Why wouldn't it be? The guy managing the building mats box will clear the processor whether its full or not. For this reason I usually put the storage box far from the processor and use that job as a strength trainer for people in heavy armor. Pretty sure you can have the person managing the ore storage also run the steel refinery and they will fill the refinery with ore when it can hold more. The person managing the steel storage will keep it clear or alternatively the person working steel bars into stuff will just get their supplies from the steel refinery itself. Sometimes it helps to rebuild things that aren't working properly as to reset the nav mesh. Sometimes you need to walk the person near their job so they can see the path and then they will run it on their own. I remember the order in which you assign a job matters a lot.
