Ok, i see beak thing eggs, and i see puppies, so i have an idea as to how those animals may be tamed in the future.
But what about leviathans?
what do they eat? do they graze? Having a war Leviathan, with several harpoon guns on its back would be just too awesome for words, and a pack leviathan to haul iron into catun for iron contracts would be necessary.
But how would one tame them?
Taming leviathans?
Leviathan with harpoon on back. if Kenshi adds World of Warcraft like things o.o i'm uninstalling it >.< its an animal. not a tank. even if they added carts an bows an stuff on the backs of elephants historically , its just silly o.o an over used. i'd much rather the animals be..well animals o.o
also have you not looked at their health ? a single leviathan could wipe out pretty much every thing with out much effort o.o i'd guess..i haven't tried attacking one i only attack things that attack me <.<
i imagine taming them will work like anything else befriend it/subdue it an force it to do what you want. personally i'd hope theres more then one way to tame. i don't like how the modern way to tame is to break an animals spirit. >.<

If you see a leviathan near you....
Ok, so they do attack. I have seen one kill a bunch of dust bandits, but i thought it was the dust bandits that attacked it first.
Those things, have like 4k health per limb. I also have no idea what the armor is on them. All i know, is that i will only go after them once i am get dex to 200, and start on the heavy club.
And yes, attacking cities is much safer. I started with the old soldier, and i am Genghis kahn raiding the holy empire. Like capturing the citizens and hauling them off into cages to sell to slavers when the slavery stuff is implemented.

Considering the historic use of elephants, it should be possible to tame a leviathan and mount some kind of platform on them with harpoons, but the leviathan doesn't have to be invincible. It really depends how tough and thick the leviathan is. If it wasn't meant to feel a hard strike from a sword, it would be hard to tame. There could be risks involved such as cutting the straps off and the platform falling off of the leviathan, people falling off it if it gets hurt and stands up on two legs, and having the platforms being removable for the leviathan to rest. Animals might even have a likeness or hate bar for their owners and do things unexpected like attacking its owners for being too harsh on it or try to escape and not follow orders.
At the moment it's the only invulnerable thing in the desert......when ranged weapons comes we will see, but attacking a Leviathan in close combat is a good way to lose all your "well trained" squadLootedWhileAwake wrote:but the leviathan doesn't have to be invincible.
I saw one wiping a city, no survivors.....thanks god, only one of them exist in the map (at least I have only seen one of themphilthymcnasty wrote:Ok, so they do attack. I have seen one kill a bunch of dust bandits, but i thought it was the dust bandits that attacked it first.
We are probably gonna require harpoon turrets to take them down, I imagine ranged weapons aren't gonna be much more than a tickle. But then again it will be easier to skirmish with ranged weapons.Set wrote:At the moment it's the only invulnerable thing in the desert......when ranged weapons comes we will see, but attacking a Leviathan in close combat is a good way to lose all your "well trained" squadLootedWhileAwake wrote:but the leviathan doesn't have to be invincible.

A leviathan can be taken down with a single unit in melee combat with no micromanagement. Sure, they're a sure way to wipe out your squad before the adept level, but once you reach in the 80s in stats, you can safely one vs one them, provided you have well crafted armor, or just hope you don't have bad luck and get hit.
They will not be tamable. But they will be raisable from an egg, so i understand.

Ive seen 7 on the screen at the same time....
My main chars, fight them 3 at a time now.IE One of my main chars,vs 3 of them. And win 99% of the time.Due to their size and attack, pretty much only one of them can attack you at a time,as they get in the way of each other most of the time.
