I have been playing a new game where I am working with just one main character. Trying to make him tough enough to survive without help. Soloing the wastelands.
After many deaths and near death he has become increasingly fun to watch. He can take on a squad of 7-8 dusties and watching the fight is like watching Yojimbo. He moves from one to the other blocking and then striking out at a different attacker, and moving to dodge someone behind them then spins about and drops another, only to turn back block and counter attack the one to his back.
It honestly is really awesome to watch. I find myself counting, "that's one down!, Two, three four!"
He even beat a 11 man squad once.
Thanks for the great visual.

I have a quick question on doing a solo character.
My guy tends to die, and then actually die because no one comes around to help revive him or anything. Even if he dies in town, the guards tend to just leave him for dead.
How is it that when your guys is taken down, you are able to come back so easily?

experience mostly.
I haven't depended on NPCs to heal me for some time so i try and avoid any unnecessary combat where it could kill me. plus i can outrun everyone so i can escape battles if i need to.
If it looks like im gonna go down hard i change to defense and try and back out. IF i get out, ill stop long enough to bandage myself before they come again, lest then ill be safer if i get knocked out.

The biggest thing is your toughness. You need to get beatup a lot! If you start as the retired soldier then the UC cites are allied to you. Then mercs and police from those cities will heal you if you go down. Spend time helping them out in fights. Also use Taunt a lot. That gives you a boost to your toughness training and since you are the only show in town you might as well.gamerking52 wrote:I have a quick question on doing a solo character.

Adventurers guild and traders will also heal you. So you can follow a trade caravan around for a while till you get toughened up. Once your toughness is up into the 30's you tend to pop back up pretty quickly.
