Just want to say how much I love the variety of new starting job options now.

Looter - You can still follow around a holy nation squad and pick up the loot from the victims of their holy justice. But I find that less lucrative with the new squad make ups.

Hunter - go out and find an animal and kill it, eat the meat and sell the skins. With the campfires and the cooking working well this is a fun one.

Farmer - go out and help one of those poor farmers to raise their crops then sell the yield til you have enough to start your own homestead.

Miner - Grab a pick axe and go out and work up a sweat. I you set a camp near a ore source you can run shifts cooking wander creatures and mining.

Thief - A lot tougher in 90.6 then in .1, but if you are sneaky you can still slip in and out and make a good profit.

so far hunter has been my most profitable, but i have used all of these options to survive so far.

Anyone else got more that I have missed?

trading can be an OK starting profession if the holy nation doesn't hate you and you are up for running back and fourth a bit, and it rapidly picks up speed in terms of profits.

Right now i feel like making your own outpost/mine/farms are still far and away the easiest/most profitable things to do. Just set up some characters near a random wild node and run someone with good carrying capacity back and fourth, or set up some walls and a farm and when bandits come to attack you just pull them into a nearby city or pack of dogs. I never like doing it because it feels like cheesing the game compared to all the other ways to live.

so far I haven't managed to survive, the hunger in this game is worse then in crowfall heh

can't hunt because large patrols keep blocking me, I guess I could work a farm but how/ where do I sell things? small tutorial would be welcome.

Maybe I should specify I am KOSS to holy nation...

I tried to get a farmer going for an early profession. It didn't work at all. I think the problem is I can't access the inventories of either the well or farms at Holy Farms, anyway. I only just started the character and I'm just starting the research so haven't got an outpost going yet.

Instead I've devoted him to a mining profession while I save up for his eventual profession as a herdsman. I really wanted to work at Holy Farm with idea of sort of RP'ing a trade of labour for my herd.

Has anyone actually made the landless farmer profession work in the current version?
