Shop Vendor Modding Questions

So I have been trying a couple of days to make vendor modding work. The problems I am running into seem to be many.

First I have tried altering existing vendors. But the Vendor's inventory would never change. I have started new games just to check the vendor and still the inventory wouldn't change. I have removed every item in the Bar vendor list except what I want and it still only shows the usual Bar inventory.

So I tried creating a new vendor with a brand new vendor list in its own squad and tried placing him in the rebel base. I am incapable of making the squad appear when put in as residents of the town, but I am capable of making the vendor squad appear when they are a bar squad. However, when I get my vendor to appear, the inventory is completely empty.

So my questions in a nutshell:
-How do I make my vendors appear in residence, if possible?

-How do I get items to actually appear in an inventory, or change a currently existing vendor listing that actually changes what is at the vendor?

-If I can't get them to appear in residence, is it possible for them to still have a sales inventory as a bar squad?

-If I am making some stupid mistakes that you laugh out loud about, please let me know! I want to know!


Thank you for any help I get. I have tried to find answers to this throughout the forums with little to no luck and I have been able to do quite a bit with modding, I just can't seem to make this work.
