Hey, guys i made a tiny addon for Spoons total overhaul mod that adds a tone of new things. One of these is book crafting where you can use normal books t craft ancient and books all the way to even AI cores. Despite that i still made the addon for normal book crafting which wasn't a recipe in the mod. Everything has been done already from research to object since all assets were already ingame.
The problem i'm facing now is that character will stop until the output inventory is depleted. So i thought about making a container especially designed to store these books and 2 items (parchment and damaged books). So how do i do this?
How to make custom storage boxes?
Do you mean model a new container or just make a container that only accepts those books?
For the second, you can quickly duplicate a storage, say a Strongbox for example, rename it, change its storage size height/width as your likings, change its functionality to "Resource storage", "building category" to "STORAGE", "description" to whatever you like, "is exterior forniture" to False, add a "limit inventory" property with the list of books you want it to store. Modify the research "Storage Boxes: Crafting" and add your new container under "enable buildings" with "0 0" values.
I hope I got it all right, for additional infos I would suggest you to join discord, there are many people that can quickly help you on pretty much any subject. https://discord.gg/Rd5JDBc

Ok, thanks for the help. Usually i try to look at an existing item but with those "nodes" in some of the existing storage i guess i sorta panicked lol. Since i madea custom research branch i'm gonna add it to that one obviously.Ocram wrote: ↑Tue Jul 24, 2018 7:35 pmDo you mean model a new container or just make a container that only accepts those books?

Yeah, use nodes are used as a rough(I think) reference to where the characters will stand using that building, I don't know much more about them. If you are just duplicating an object (or using existent building parts) you don't have to worry tho, they are all already set.

Btw i have been having issues with trying to upload stuff to steam. For some reason the editor keeps claiming that i don't have connection with steam, yet i can access all kinds of stuff, i can go to the workshop and download things and still it keeps claiming that i'm not connected.

Did you open FCS directly from the Kenshi directory? If you did that it will not be connected to Steam. You need to open FCS through Steam launcher to upload your mod to the Workshop.TerrorofKenshi wrote: ↑Tue Jul 24, 2018 8:06 pmBtw i have been having issues with trying to upload stuff to steam. Thanks for telling me though. Haha. Better late then never
edit: Wait a minute. When i launch Kenshi through steam it goes straight to the Kenshi startup screen i don't even get to choose between playing the game or the editor.
