Lo-Fi Games

Right hello everyone, I owned Kenshi since it came out on steam and I was thinking of getting into the modding scene since I am studying to become a Game Artist and therefore I have several questions.

First off, how do I go about making re-texturing already made items such as Heart Protector, Samurai Armour and so on?

Second, Is it possible to make weapons and armour in Maya 2017 and then put them into the game and mod so characters use them etc?

Retexturing existing items can be done by either modifying the textures found in the game folder (Kenshi/data/items/armour/textures for example) or replacing the material of the item and pointing to the new texture.

Adding new items is possible although I'm not sure how you get them into the game with maya.

I don't know specifically but the game is made with Orge3d so you might want to look up a guide on Maya 2017 content in Orge3d. I'd think the Orge3d forums would be the place to look first.

I'd think that would be more fruitful than looking specifically for this game.
