I own both Steam and GOG versions.
Trying to copy Workshop mods over to GOG, it doesn't acknowledge them.
Im assuming that they have a different source code or something. Is it possible?

copy the steam mods folder to your Kenshi Mod folder
then change the names of the folders to the names of the Mod. you can even run FCS, load each mod and save it to force Kenshi to see them if the game still doesn't see them.

Not for the purposes of GoG, but I find it odd/unfortunate that Kenshi doesn't recognize mods from the workshop except when launched by Steam. I also noticed the naming seemed to be key, but I find it very odd that Kenshi behaves differently(besides looking in a different directory too) when launched by Steam. You know people don't always WANT to launch from Steam, right? If I have the Kenshi folder open because I'm tinkering, just double clicking the executable just makes more sense.
Actually the workshop mods are in the same folder as my other mods because I moved them, deleted the folder they are supposed to download to, and left a symbolic link it its place(pointing to \mods\). I was going to write up a guide on "making workshop mods load (with or without Steam launching the game)" until I realized... it doesn't work! The workshop downloads are indeed in \mods\ but it as though they don't exist without Steam launching.
I suppose some powershell/python/js/lua/etc script could fix it. I'd rather it just worked. If I do cook up a script to handle this(if I ever feel like it), I'll be glad to share. I guess powershell is probably the best option being windows users won't need anything extra to install.
But then... I guess there is the question of trusting some random script off the internet and I don't want to encourage that as a matter of principal.

Thats a Steam issue. and Steam can be weird in how they do things.
which is simply fixed by manually moving the Mods over to the game's install/Mod directory as i stated in the above reply.
you are more then welcome to make a script that does it, you just can't sell it here.
you can also download the lastest Demo, then input your steam key and you can play the game without steam. least that should work.
