Lo-Fi Games

Im trying to make new armor and weapons but i can't seem to figure out how to make them appear in a workbench to be crafted by my squad. I have enabled them through research and the tech says the new item will be available. After researching it however there is nothing new added to the workbench.
Any help would be appreciated.

You need to add them to the bench type as well. Can be found under Buildings-->Functionality

It's pretty easy to figure out which one is which on this screen. The Weapons and Armour Smithing benches are these ones:

armour chain
armour leather
armour plate
clothing bench
weapon smith basic
weapon smith 2
weapon smith 3

Once you add the item to one of the benches, and have researched the item in-game, you should be able to build it at the bench you added it to.
