I am currently modding my game start, and I want to link specific dialogue between my character and characters or areas in game like Lord Phoenix/Longen at Heft or Holy Territory. Also, I want my characters to have occasional conversations at those locations. An exchange similar to that of Headshot and Ruka.
Just for information, I wanted to do a father and daughter kind of start. Where the mother was killed by Lord Phoenix not too long ago. But the remaining family members were enslaved/murdered by Longen's slavers. Leaving only the father and daughter.
For dialogue between the characters and Lord Phoenix (or Longen), I want the daughter or father to shout something along the lines "You killed my mother/wife and burned our home!" and LP (or Longen) will say something like "I don't recall."
As for area prompts, I want the father and daughter to have some sort of dialogue when entering new areas. For example entering Heft or spotting paladins or entering holy nation territory. Father: "Stay close dear, they might take you and...", Daughter: "Don't worry dad, I know what they did to mother...". Or at Skinner's Roam: Father: " Those who roam here are scum. Stealing from the weak like animals.", Daughter: "We were like these people dad... we had to steal to survive.", Father:"...".
I already know how to add gamestarts with locations, squads, stats, equipment, and even assigning personalities and dialogues. But I don't know how to link dialogues to other characters and locations. I already started editing the daughters dialogue, but I don't know how to make conversations between characters.
Any advice with this will be useful. I added the gamestart mod file, just in case.
[Solved] How to link dialogues to specific characters and locations?

Top right of the dialogue box there are conditions to give the dialogue to a specific character and also to restrict it to towns belonging to a specific faction. Dont know if you can tie it up to a town more precisely than that.
There are also Biome entry dialogues which you might find useful, and are often tied to specific characters in the game.
To make a conversation between characters add an interjection node and use the top right drop down box to restrict it to the character you want to reply. Make sure you change the speaker for that line to the interjector, it should change colour.
Look at the Biome entry dialogue for Bast for some examples. You make them play in game by editing the spawn area and making it an arrival dialogue.
If there is already an arrival dialogue for that Biome I would just edit it and add another conversation for your characters.
For a character like the Phoenix I would probably edit his dialogue package with an interjection that is retricted to your Father or Daughter and have it play when he sees a neutral squad, or use the player talk to me condition. Again, best thing is to look for examples already in the game.
The drop down box in the middle of the dialogue editor can restrict dialogue by factors such as gender, injuries, hunger, personality, bounties etc etc.... for the speaker, target and interjectors... which again you will probably find useful.
