Howdy folks, I'm fairly new to Kenshi and modding it at large. I've been playing around with the FCS and starting to get the hang of it, but what I'm interesting in is editing an existing mod. A guy on the steamworkshop made a mod that creates a tigerdude race, but for whatever reason he put huge blobby footpads on the feet, so I'm trying to edit the model itself to give it normal feet that can actually work with existing footwear.
I've tried contacting the mod maker, but he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth, so after examining his files in the mod folders, the only thing I can see that might contain the model data is some tiger.mesh files, but blender has no idea what to do with them and apparently 3dmax costs like what, 1500? I've tried looking at some guides and have no idea where to start. Like I said, I have blender, I have the Kenshi io plugin for Kenshi, but I have no idea what to do with the .mesh files, any help would be appreciated.
Trying to import .mesh files into blender.

Yeah, only thing is I can't import the mesh I want to edit. I've tried importing the .mesh with Nifskope and exporting it as a .obj, but it doesn't want to. I'm also trying to install Ogre3D I think it's called, but I'm having difficulties since I guess I have to make a custom installation? I did look at the thing you linked, I got the Kenshi IO, but it still wont let me import the existing .mesh, so I'm at a bit of a loss.
Found a solution to my problem (I think), after digging around for more hours than I'd like, I finally found a program called 3d Object Converter. I managed to import the .mesh, exported it as a .ply and successfully imported it with blender. 3d mesh of the model is there, but now it's just a matter of figuring out how blender works in the first place. So far so good tho, I'll let you know if everything worked out alright as I fool around with it, cheers.
