Oh good one. That bugs me too and I didn't even think of it myself!

I will give it a try and see if I can make that change.

Well it looks like this can't be done right now. The main part of the UI in this case the bottom panels are only using the core.theme and not a .layout file. So the panels and buttons for the buttom UI are being generated in code and cannot be changed by .layout files since none exist for those panels.

:(

Okay so here are some images of some changes I have done so far.

Font change to an Arial round font.

Made a small change to the exitmenu.layout. Made the buttons just a tad bigger for the font change. Also changed its open position to more of a centered position.

Outpost and Town markers.

Portrait Highlight color change.

Here is an example of what I have done. I went with a simple flat button/window look. I changed a few things like the font/font size.

I reverted my pointer changes for now, was not happen with it so using the existing pointers.

Any possibility of adding a warning for example, red lines slowly flashing around a character that is currently in battle.

No, this cannot be done by a theme mod. I wish I could do stuff like that with the theme....

You know, if you talk to Chris, and you know what you're doing, he'd be willing to pay you for making a sexier UI. I saw him make the offer to someone who wasn't more skilled than you. Assuming you could make something even better than what you currently have. And I suppose I shouldn't be speaking for Chris on something relating to his money but you should look into at least having him use your mod in the normal version instead of being a separate thing. I dunno. Just saying.

I wouldn't mind it one bit.

I am not knew to GUI and programming. I currently write business applications for a large company. I have been looking at game development.

So yeah I would be open for it.
