hey all, so im new to the game and to modding, just a couple of noob questions! i did a search of the forums for the answers i was looking for but didnt seem to find them, perhaps i just read over them unknowingly, one cannot be sure haha.
i read the StarWars.mod walktrhough and followed it flawlessly (at least i think so :] ) until the end where it says add the mod name to the bottom line of data/mod.cfg.
this is where i need a hand. i locate the data folder for the game and then when i scroll down to mod.cfg its just a blank file that when i click on says i need to either use a program to open it or find one online. i opened it with a number of different programs to find it blank.
should there be something in here? am i looking in the wrong place? and what exactly do i add? just type 'StarWars.mod' (thats the file name just like the walkthrough :p) or what?
and also is there any way to change what your starting squad starts out with in means of weapons and such?
thanks all for the patience and help! happy gaming!

Yup, thats it.Cookee wrote:just type 'StarWars.mod'
Yep, in the construction set, find the gamestart you wanna alter, and look at the characters that start in that squad.and also is there any way to change what your starting squad starts out with in means of weapons and such?
Then, go to characters, and alter the character.

Urm, i think you'd have to completely retexture an item if you wanna change the colour

textures are in the textures folder. The game doesn't use weapon textures (or at least not to my knowledge) so there are different branches of weapon levels/manufacturers which have a specified texture (such as rusty metal, clean metal) so you'd just have to add a manufacturer, use their texture as a template (and save as a new texture in photoshop with a .dds plugin), then add that to the weapon levels and set the character's weapon level to your custom one.Cookee wrote:perfect! now perhaps you can riddle me this.. while im in the construction set, is there anyway to change the particular color of an item? i see something called material but im not sure if thats it or not. any idea?

I seem to be having the same problem I wanna change the sand to grass or somthing else thats less depressing then sand
. but i can't find the textures needed to get working on these models.
Im also trying to add water butt this seems to be very hard since the game doesn't have a working model as Im aware off.
any tips on how water could't be added without expreme game overhauls.

You can find the texture needed to change the sand texture in \Kenshi\Grass Mod\data\land\textures called Sand01bc.ddsBlastmetal wrote:I seem to be having the same problem I wanna change the sand to grass or somthing else thats less depressing then sand. but i can't find the textures needed to get working on these models.

Use a DDS plugin for either Photoshop or GIMP depending on what you use. Water isn't possible yet as there are no fluids in the game yet.
