Naruto mod introduction AND a lil' bit of help.

Hello Kenshi community

I just started on a Naruto mod a few weeks ago, and am only in a pre-pre alpha stage of development. I have implemented All of the Naruto major factions including: The hidden Leaf, The hidden cloud, hidden sand, hidden mist, stone village, the Akatsuki faction (Including zetsu armies), and also rogue ninja. I will be working on adding in minor factions and also A LOT more characters from the Naruto universe for more immersion. I have added in more starting characters such as playing as the allied shinobi force, madara uchiha with god like start, the anbu black ops (Which may or may not become it's own seperate faction all together with good relations to the hidden leaf village), and also a few various others. I am also working on revising the world map so that it's not just a desert. For example; the hidden LEAF village should be in a forest. Or the Hidden Stone village should be maybe on the face of a mountain. I don't think that I have to worry about the Hidden sand village though

I have drastically modified the stats of the naruto characters such as speed and strength. The Genin and Chunin won't be very strong though... But they could still beat up most bandits. I have added in roaming parties such as the Anbu Black ops, and the dreaded Akatsuki. The villages also have (ALL villages) a kage as well with pretty darn good stats. Madara Uchiha is a roaming war lord who can kill EVERYBODY, but he will never attack villages, as he would destroy the world in a matter of days. I am very excited to work on this and I hope that you will follow my progress on this. Once I get a hang on this whole modding thing, as this is my first go at it, I'll look for more help from the community. I'll give it my best

BELEIVE IT!

Oh, sorry, I forgot about the help part, silleh me

I am trying to add my characters and factions into the game, but with certain frustrations and difficulties. I'll give the rundown of what I've done:
1. I have created NEW characters in the forgotten construction set, FCS for short.
2. I have added these characters into divisions, and from divisions into factions.
3. I have created starting towns; the hidden leaf, hidden mist etc.
4. I have created starting gear stats and weapons for EACH and EVERY character I have made.
5. I have started up the mod through "The Kenshi Mod Manager"
6. I have saved after EACH and EVERY edit I made int the FCS.
7. No characters in game :c
8. Any help from the community would be pretty awesome, as I wish for this to be played by anyone and everyone

You have to add the divisions in the biomes section of the fcs for them to spawn. Hopefully you created them from pre-existing spawning mobs (like dust bandits) or else they might not spawn correctly once they're added. Also, the higher the number you put next to them in the biomes section, the more of that unit type will be added into the game.
Also there is a file in the data folder of Kenshi called "mods.cfg" you need to open that and add the name of your mod into it. (Like "Naruto.mod", case sensitive btw)
I also recommend starting a new game every time you make changes to the mod to make sure things are working correctly, otherwise you might run into a mob that has the old stats and gear from an older version of the mod and get hella confused.
If you want a faster way to tell if your mod has been added to the game, make a new start off and try loading it under the new game section of Kenshi.
Good luck with the modding buddy!

Okay, I see. Unfortunately that puts them as homeless instead of in their respective villages... Well, I guess I'll just implement them as homeless to start off, and to see if they actually work. But thanks for the reply

Now just to figure out if they can start off in either villages already ingame.. or if I can set them in the ones that I created.

You would just need to set the building for the divisions in the faction setting and then add the town to the faction. Don't forget to set a reasonable AI for the people in the towns too. Having them set to "patrol" and wander off probably isn't a good thing.
After you think you got your characters set up in the mod, save it, then back up you world data. (duplicate the "leveldata" folder in kenshi data folder.)
After you back up your world data, make sure you don't have any player bases in your game world. The only thing other then the default towns in your world right now should be you newly created towns.
If this is true, make a new game, open the in-game editor (default ctrl+F12), then click "Populate."
You should now have characters wandering around your towns and following the AI that you gave them. Don't forget to click "Save" in the construction set so they stay where you spawned them.
Didn't work? Still stuck?

Hey, thank's a bunch for the info. I'm still having a LITTLE bit of trouble, but I'm sure I'll figure it out in a matter of a few days or so. And really, thank you for the info haha.

You're probably better off just releasing the mod without them.

This mod sounds really interesting, if you haven't already I'll make some weapons for you, I kinda feel like making zabuza's sword right now because I'm stuck in coding and can't figure out a bug so, I'll have a go and post a picture soon.
if I do help out with this, I'll find some time to sift through this list lol
http://www.leafninja.com/personal-weapons.php
I guess you can tell me which ones you want and I'll make them, though I'll tell you now I'm useless at texturing only really good at making the 3d model itself.
Oh and for the jutsu thing if you somone knew how to edit the animation files, then you could basically before they attack run the animation lol so yeah it's possible as long as FCS can do that, otherwise gonna have to ask the almighty-bearded-one on how to do that.
update:
Here's what I think was the hardest bit of the blade, and before I get carried away and waste the day making this I thought I'd show you whats done.
Alright so I kinda thought about and I might have time when I'm in China (Free trip woot woot) though I dunno what I'll be doing there yet (the trip came with a university scholarship). If not then I'll have to consider maybe 6 weeks down the line lol I dunno just add me on steam and pester me about if you want me to work on the mod with you, otherwise I can send over that sword if you want I don't really mind.
Anyways back to coding... Oh steam name is Nocturnal Coder atm should be same pic as the one on here

Hey there, been a long time since I've posted :c I've been a very busy man. Work, school, family... potential family

and have had a difficult time devoting.. well... time, to this mod. However, it's not dead, and I am still adding bits and pieces into it here and there. I will be finished with the mods alpha phase hopefully by the end of this month. I will then release it AS AN ALPHA to see what the community thinks of it's current progress. If I get a more supporters than nay sayers, I will move on to its beta phase.. IF I get more supporters than nay sayers. Big if there. Anyways, just wanted to post this update to let you know that this mod is NOT dead. See you hopefully at the end of the month~
