How do I buy the game directly from Lo-Fi Games? Download the demo and upgrade or something? And with this version can I access the experimental patches?
I currently have the GOG version, but am considering returning it as I can't get the experimental patches without using their Downloader software.
How do I buy direct?

the experimental patches are only on steam as the update process is rather painless for the Devs and they offer an easy way to do it. course not sure if there's any extra fees but the price plan for it most likely is either really cheap or free. and renting a service to send out updates en mass can be rather expensive.
so if you want the experimental branch you need to get it through steam.

Well as I mention, you can get the experimental patches on GOG as well, if you are willing to install their downloader/client. And steam's is much more invasive than GOG's. I don't like to install 3rd party software to play a game I buy, which typically GOG is great for, except apparently, for experimental patches.Hatsune_Neko wrote:the experimental patches are only on steam as the update process is rather painless for the Devs and they offer an easy way to do it. course not sure if there's any extra fees but the price plan for it most likely is either really cheap or free. and renting a service to send out updates en mass can be rather expensive.

But putting that aside, is there a way to buy the game directly from Lo-Fi? I saw some posts that seemed to indicate getting keys directly. Is it for upgrading or demo, or how does it work?

you can buy from the main web page.
you are then given a key. you can download any game version and put the code in to activate it.

We're unable to sell Kenshi directly through our own site anymore due to changes in VAT laws in the UK last year. Sorry for the inconvenience. As Hatsune said, for now experimental is only available on Steam and GOG Galaxy.haplo888 wrote:But putting that aside, is there a way to buy the game directly from Lo-Fi? Thanks for the responses guys. I will anxiously await a new stable release on GOG.Koomatzu wrote:We're unable to sell Kenshi directly through our own site anymore due to changes in VAT laws in the UK last year. I'm very much enjoying 93.5 and am looking forward to being able to prospect fertility in 93.7, and the new area in 93.14.
