Keys bought from the website CAN be used to activate in Desura. Please sticky this.

-If you buy on desura, you still have to enter your key into the game, there is no key that can be entered directly into desura.
-If you don't buy on desura, you can still download the demo on desura and enter your key, it will still work as the 100% full version, and it will still update. Desura will still mark it as a demo with a little lightning bolt, but its really the full version.
-Please don't message me asking me to convert your key to a desura one just to get rid of the lightning bolt. I'd like to, but it takes time and if I did that for everyone I would spend half my day converting keys instead of working on the game. So sorry, but no

Yeah but if you sticky that you had to open it to read the answer.

May seem like a silly question but...how?

I downloaded the demo and then bought from the website. Now there's this annoying little lightning bolt next to the Kenshi demo on my "Play" menu that just links me to the game's main page on Desura.

It's nice to see people buying and activating keys. Keys rhymes with *CENSORED*, and it all helps with awareness of the struggle to get *CENSORED* into open ended RPGs.

i stood on a bee today ..........

just ignore the desura keys and the lightning bolt and enter the key when the game starts up like normal.

my key didn't go through desura, just moaned at me that it was invalid.

so I bought the game again through desura instead for an extra 100 years of beard health (I hope it multiplies Chris!)

Excuse me, but how is this done? I bought the game ... a while ago. November, maybe. And I don't recall it being available on Desura. It's be nice if somewhere within this topic there was a how-to, as I'm not very familiar with how Desura works.

I tried 'activate a game key on Desura' option, but it tells me it's not valid. Is there somewhere else I'm supposed to enter my key? The reason I want to put it on Desura in the first place is that I'm hoping it will resolve some of the update issues I've had.

There doesn't seem to be a date of edit but have you actually read the first post? Chris seems to have edited in exactly the question you are asking. Although whether he did this before or after your post I don't know. But have a quick read of that; it seems very clear to me and I am by no means a computer person.

Did read, and no it is not clear. It says you can enter key, it does not say where or how. My post indicated I had gone to "activate a product on Desura" and it failed, so I'm asking if I got that wrong or if there's another way I'm unaware of.

*Edit: to be clear, I have downloaded the demo on desura. I don't see any place to enter the key, and it doesn't give me the option when I launch the game either.

The key is stored on your system. If it doesnt give you the option to enter the key at startup then it is running as the full version already.
