This post advertising and asking for forum spam-software, is in violation of forum rules and has been removed.

Hmm, according to Wikipedia, XRumer did crack the Recaptcha verification methods in november 2012, which is around the same time spam starting resurging here.

The forum rules are clear on this: "We do not condone nor accept posts pertaining to illegal activities such as hacking, cracking, warez, or spam.", his post has been removed. What was he thinking? Asking for spam-software in a place like this, just plain stupid.

XRumer Wiki clip: In addition, the software can avoid the suspicions of forum administrators by first registering to make a post in the form of a question which mentions the spam product ("Where can I get...?"), before registering another account to post a spam link which mentions the product.
So I am guessing that this post is a "bad joke" or just a bad joke.

XRumer Wiki clip: here are several helpful resources that help block forum spam, notably "www.stopforumspam.com", "www.keypic.com" and "www.botscout.com", both of which reference reports of forum spam by username and IP address. If a user/IP has appeared in the lists of either of those sites, it is highly likely that it is a black-hat user of XRumer. Common defensive actions by webmasters are to institute IP based posting bans on entire class C ranges of IP addresses used by the spammers.

Hmm....I will have to look into these.

The original post was completely devoid of any indication of it being a joke. It basically went like this: "Where can I get XRumer version blablabla" followed by an offer of selling an older version.

Also the fact that I didn't ban him, but did send him a notification (and warning) about the removal of his post, so in case it was just a bad joke he can still explain so himself.

ArcaneSaint, you are getting too soft

There was a guy asking for a wii controller some days ago and had all those links in his sig, so I banned him just in case (you know... preemptive strike... apparently it's allowed irL). It sounds a lot like this :

They probably never met me :P

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Oh, if his post or sig were full of links, I'd have ban-hammered* within the blink of an eye, but they weren't.

*yes, I use an actual hammer to press the mouse-button when the cursor is over the final "ban user" button. It feels very satisfying. :D

This all sounds like a bot/spam to me.
search engine optimization program that is able to successfully register and post to forums (forum spam) with the aim of boosting search engine rankings.
The side effect of these innocent-looking posts is that helpful forum visitors may search on a search engine (e.g. Google) for the product and themselves post a link to help out, thus bolstering the product's Google ranking without falling afoul of forum posting policies. The software is also capable of avoiding detection by making posts in off-topic,
The software made to advertise itself with the method it's programmed to work. It mentions itself and then makes a bunch of people to Google in order to "boost search engine rankings." From the post one could have an impression that new version of the said software is about to come out, so if that was true, the software really needs advertising. And being spamming advertising program, it's only logical that it is made to advertise itself.

It worked on me. When I first saw this post, I Googled it  I'm sorry.

I propose that you remove the name of the program from every post so that we don't do exactly what it wants us to do. (Discuss about it so more people see it's name and Google it resulting the program to get more Google hits)

Also, this backs up evidence about the program adverting itself. It's from website of a company selling services that involve using this program:
Our services work- so much so that we use them on *PROGRAM NAME*Geek, and it's probably what got you to find us today!

Or, it can be asshole trying to be funny. Either way, he has no right to be part of our community.

Hope you understand what I was trying to say. I think I made a some sort of a record of grammar errors.
