In starcraft (similar if not almost identical setting), a marine is worth 50minerals while a zergling is worth 25minerals (50 but you get 2 of them), so that would mean that for it to be advantageous, we need to see 2 times more bug death than marine death.
I've searched for the body counts and found an interesting site dedicated to those. Here's the top chart down to starship troopers (just missed the top10
# Count Film Year
01 836 LotR: Return of the King (ex) 2003
02 610 Kingdom of Heaven (ex) 2005
03 600 300 2007
04 572 Troy 2004
05 558 The Last Samurai 2003
06 468 LotR: Two Towers (ex) 2002
07 310 Grindhouse: Double Feature 2007
08 307 Hard Boiled 1992
08 307 Titanic 1997
10 305 We Were Soldiers 2002
11 256 Starship Troopers 1997
12 255 Saving Private Ryan 1998
13 247 Rambo 2008
Now the exact numbers for Starship troopers are:
Entire Film: 256 (128 humans, 128 bugs)
So basically, the infantry going to war was not worth it! Now I can go back to studying
Characters' Kills:
Bugs: 123 (122 humans, 1 bug)
JRico (Van Dien): 16 (15 bugs, 1 human)
Sugar (Seth Gilliam): 13 (12 bugs, 1 human)
Ace Levy (Busey): 8 (8 bugs)
Rasczak (Ironside): 5 (4 bugs, 1 human)
Carmen Ibanez (Richards): 5 (5 bugs)
Dizzy Flores (Meyer): 3 (3 bugs)
Kitten Smith (Matt Levin): 2 (2 bugs)
Brain Bug: 2 (2 humans)
Zander (Patrick Muldoon): 2 (2 bugs)
Carl Jenkins (Neil Patrick Harris): 1 (1 bug)
Djana'D (Tami-Adrian George): 1 (1 human)
PS: If you are asking yourselves where i'm going with this, it's nowhere. Just sharing very interesting information. If even just one other person finds this interesting, then we win against the bugs (you know the 1:2 ratio thing from above
edit: special mention to 300 with 600 death on screen, that's gotta be on purpose now lol
