the one thing that holds me back on modern games is my GPU. i knew that before i started having issues.

and GPU's and Mobo's integrating together isn't a thing of the past, i was reading an article bout a 970 being added to a Mobo but integrated into it.

as for the cabling to my monitor ya i check that often as i do have a issue with the power, but i have had that sicne i got it. its lose so have to make sure its sitting in the right position.

as for performance, as of late i been having some major performance issues, like Facebook not wanting to load, or pretty much any site with heavy graphics. even these forums i have a slower load time. my games are being affected as well. i lost like 10fps across the board in the past two weeks and multitasking between games and all the other stuff i do has had some serious impacts and major slow down's.

course when i originally bought the parts for my computer, i went ohhhhh 8 cores, pretty!!! and tossed my purse to a vendor saying I WANT!!!!
drools
giggles.
sadly i forgot to do a check on the CPU its self. i was just so anti Intel at the time i refused to buy their stuff.

but over all yea i have had some noticeable performance drops and they haven't gone away, they sticking around for the party. though its kinda hard to gauge in Kenshi just because its CPU/ram intensive and not GPU. but i still got around in Kenshi with the same FPS loss. ( Minus optimization issues everyone else has )

You might want to check this
http://www.geeks3d.com/20150828/furmark ... benchmark/

It's pretty much what it says, usefull for tracking overheating. Max temp by NVidia specs is 98 C, so if your temps are anywhere near it - we have an ultimate suspect :)

max load on GPU
30 minutes with 8 browser tabs open, Steam Running, me activly browsing indiegale and GPU stress test running plus the test being in windowed mod which i know is harder on the comptuer then full screen.
for 30 minutes it stayed at 66 C, so over heating doesn't seam to be an issue

symptoms.
Monitor goes blank looks like it powers down. it then shows back up but as pure static.
Is there by chance a weird buzzing sound coming out of the speakers/headset?
One of my graphics cards once did this when it was dying. Somehow the VRAM got fried.
I could even run Furmark without any problems, but I got graphical glitches/artifacts in games, like here:

http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.c ... 2CDE9B5D6/

And the crashes got more and more..

EDIT: WAIT! Links are working again? Praise the sun!

i have not had any artifacts or even the green checkerboard issues that many games have been having running under windows 10.
no weird buzzing sounds. just that one time where it went to static after powering back up from the screen blanking in the first place.

but yea this is getting confusing as to what the accrual problem is. sicne something is defiantly wrong with all the issues i been having. though the new PSU seams to have stabilized the worst of the issues so far. Even the blanking out screen doesnt happen as often any more.

the weird thing is, my games dont crash. well very rarely anyways. they slow down and become laggy same goes for when i alt tab out to browse web sites, those defiantly lag now when before they didn't.

so yea this is a difacult issue. :/

Can you list all the problems you experienced, maybe someone on the forum can find a pattern.
You mentioned originally, things like one of the hard drives failing, monitor issues etc....

From where I am sitting, it is hard to visualize/pinpoint the issue. Sounds like a compound one.

Side-note: next time you get a crash or bluescreen see if you can copy the error code.

Hard Drive, i got NTFS error blue screens ( drives removed )

Monitor going dark for 10 seconds at a time then popping back up, at one point it was doing it back to back for like 5 minutes

Monitor blanks, comes back up all i got was static

Computer Performance reduced visible lag in normal applications or use of websites ( i lag now when loading any screen in Kenshi Forums ) also Daily Kos, always now lag to the point where computer wants to kill the pages. which also affects other things like steam client which then pauses.

Games require lowered quality for game play as they lag now. Some have become unplayable due to crashing on startup.

Audio switches from headphones to Monitor Speakers, requires restart to fix.

think this next one is a windows error but computer hangs when rebooting requiring me to hit the reboot switch on my computer case.

now after replacing my PSU. this stuff has reduced but not gone away. so the PSU was defiantly part of the problem but not all of it. sicne i still get all the above ( minus hard drive blue screens )

and i should just post my entire hardware list. this is current.

Also never hurts to check for viruses. Not sure what you guys are using in other part of a planet, but here Dr.Web CureIt is considered a really nice light soft to do so.

im using Trend Micro systems Titanium
i been using it for nearly 20 years. never had a virus successfully make it onto my computer because of it.
its also very light and unobtrusive. great for gaming and its extremely rare it gives false positives from games and such. thinks its done that once so far sicne i had it.

What are your temps? You mentioned 66 degrees. Try feeling around with your hands near the back of our chip if you can reach it.

I had an odd cooling issue a few months ago that gave me many similar symptoms that you have described (although not all of them).

You will know something is wrong if you can feel the heat not matching up to the software readings OR if the software is riding up near the boiling water levels.

If your temps are fine, you've checked your RAM again and the PSU is fine then I am out of my depth with what could be causing these issues.

boy was i wrong giggles.
that means once the house is sold. it should be a month before i move. and lucky me, now i got free time because those 3 months where spent packing and cleaning and fixing.

Good luck. I'd be surprised if the house sold with the first inspection but stranger things have happened.

okies a update

im 3 days away from my move. ( i know, wow that took forever lol ) i leave on the 28th at best, or the 29.
i should be on the road for 4 maybe 5 days depending on traffic. There is internet when i get there so give me like a day extra to move in and settle down. and i should be back online by then.

thanks everyone for the support and for helping me get my computer working again, i really appreciated the emergency replacement computer part.
