I remember watching somehting on youtube about it once. Great atmosphere but I can't say I've played it. Seems very...diablo-ish. But I guess you like that kind of thing, this might be up your alley.

Can't say i was impressed by it (i've played the beta for a bit over an hour), it's probably a good game for Diablo fans (which i'm not).

I had some fun in the Beta but I didn't have much drive to keep going. Especially once I learned it wasn't finished yet.

it is very diablo-ish but thats good.

a lot of fans have run from diablo 3, and while it was fun i too am leaving it. it just is not the same.

PoE has a killer passive skill tree that i am enjoying very much. the game has yet to be finished but that doesnt stop me. bought into kenshi knowing that as well as running with rifles, and project zomboid.

i see a very promising game in PoE and look forward to the final copy.

Would you call diablo 3 a failure? None of the hardcore people have stood by it that I am aware of and many other people haven't stuck by it. I've yet to buy it but the fact people seem to be running the other direction doesn't help convince me.

failure is a harsh word...

its incomplete. features that were promised are not there or the rules changed (RMAH). i was not going to use it but in order to you now have to buy an authenticator. PvP is nowhere near implementation. and the item hunt is bad. the darkness that was d1 and 2 is not in d3 past act 1...

to expand a bit... re-playability is nonexistent. every level is the same with random triggers and events. what i liked about d2 is the randomness. no map was the same. torchlight did this to an extent as well, but what they really did that i liked was the maps that could be bought once the game was finished. they were random and packed full of bad guys. you didn't have to replay the game over and over for new items.

Interesting to know. The missing 'darkness' as you have said is something that I think was important. I've watched a few youtube vids and they seem to be lacking something.
