Hey all, I was lead here by IndieGameMagazine. I was looking for mentions of another indie game alpha and found this...

http://www.indiegamemag.com/the-10-most ... pha-stage/

I found the game I was looking for, and then I found Kenshi! After seeing the video on the site and giving the demo a go, I couldn't resist a purchase.

I absolutely love to watch fledgling games mature, and I can't wait to see what this game develops into. Kenshi definitely shows a lot of promise. A few questions though: Is it just Chris behind this game?
When was development started, roughly?

Welcome!

Currently it is just Chris working on Kenshi. For some of the work, (foliation) Chris hired a contractor.
As to how long Chris was working on Kenshi I have no idea, the oldest forum entry dates back to March 26,2009

Worth noting that the game was released in october or november last year though. And fulltime development has only started relatively recently.

HEYO!

was skipping around looking for good open world rpgs and came across this. after reading a few pages on it i became immediately in love with it and bought it over Desura xD it is great that someone is willing to take a risk in this industry in this day and age. Never sign up for forums or anything for a game until now and i have been a gamer all my life lol. AMAZING concept and cant wait to see the final product. I will gladly give support where I can

Hey everyone, I found this game on rockpapershotgun's "Kickstarter Katchup" article and after watching the video on the indiegogo page I was really surprised that this game only got that amount of support.
I downloaded the demo and fell in love with it so I grabbed some of the money I was saving for other games and got this :P

Cool, welcome to the community. That RPS article was a bit harsh all things considered. We are still a very small community. Although hopefully once the next few updates come out things will pick up. (next one will be a chunky one)

Yes welcome to Kenshi! There are currently 919 members of the Kenshi forum, which is very small, but like Blxz said it will increase. The next few updates are going to introduce some of the major micro-management parts like base construction and item crafting.

Welcome to every new addition to the community. Is there a girl among them? (maybe we should do a poll  )

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Girls don't play video games. At least not the ones who admit they are girls. All the real ones keep it secret for fear of creepy nerd internet attack.

Well, this topic is "slightly" aged, but with all of the new members I believe it would still be of good use.

Good point, was thinking about this during the recent deluge of newbies. Good thing you are such a fine necromancer after practising on my threads. :D
