o7 Hello all. Bought in back when Desura was still a thing, and started really playing actively a few months back with all the content updates.
Have been massively impressed with the tone of the setting and game mechanics. To the point I've recently been inspired to try and make some sort of pen & paper for the setting. Plan on starting a thread on that once I've got a little more to show.

After more than a year out of the game from actively play testing, I've finally mustered enough resources to build my first Custom PC that can not only play Kenshi, but have the potential to perform one-man game development whenever I have spare time to learn and prepare. My Lenovo laptop and old Dell desktop cannot simply handle the newer versions.
To put it simply, I have returned, and one unit from the .72 version era is going to get back on the wasteland once again with the Edge Type 3 Plank and Katana on hand.
PC specs in the signature below. Let's see if there's still some new bugs and exploits in the experimental branch to discover.

Hey, I'm Dempersons. I just got Kenshi two weeks ago and I already have 60 hours because it's so much fun. I'm excited to see how it changes until its release. (Hopefully I'll stay as excited as I am now for that long.)
Greetings,
I just bought the game and am downloading right now.
Long time fan of games like JA2, OpenXCOM, Rimworld, DF, Fallout 1, 2 + NV and Gothic 1, 2.
I'm positive this game will fit right on this list!
If I may ask, one question is already open.
Recently I played Nier Automata and was blown away by it, is there a mod that could cater to that feel?

Welcome to the kenshi Forums
Not currently, though the modding community for Kenshi is just starting up now that the modding tools are mostly finished. some are waiting for the game to finish so they not constantly having to update Mods because the game changes. or because the tools required for them are not added yet.

Well, at least it's moddable, games these days tend to be rather restrictive.Hatsune_Neko wrote:Not currently, though the modding community for Kenshi is just starting up now that the modding tools are mostly finished. some are waiting for the game to finish so they not constantly having to update Mods because the game changes. or because the tools required for them are not added yet.
Game looks great! Still very rough arround the edges, but I already enjoy setting up a little shanty for me own.

most the moderators here have Mods up as well.
they usually posted on Steam due to ease of access and updating.

hello everyone!
Hi
I'm a new member!
Which is probably why I'm posting here (maybe).
Anyways, great game! Love it! Love you! Want to learn to mod it but first I should probably learn the overall mechanics.
Also just curious, how active is the community here on a scale of 1-10?
10 being a monkey on crack and 1 being Adam West (RIP).

welcome to the forums then.
as for actively.. mmm would say around 4 or 5,
it gets slow when they working on a large update.

And another one joins the fray.
Bought Kenshi last weekend (after viewing several youtube-vids), not that i spend a lot of time with it already.
But it's sure interesting enough:
- High mortality rate.
- can become whatever your heart desires.
In my books, a must have.

Chaos = Order. We just don't know the rules, yet.
I figured since I'm already posting in other threads I should probably say hello here as well.
I guess I followed this game a long time ago on steam. I then promptly forgot about it. During the initial videos I saw it looked like it had promise but I was not sure at that time what direction or scope the game had at that time.
I guess it was a few weeks ago I re-found Kenshi and I have been hooked since. This sandbox-esque style is one I always find compelling. I hope the community does not become put off at the -esque part of sandbox. To me a sandbox solution allows to you do basically anything you would like in the given world/universe. There are still a few things that would need to take place before the removal of the -esque qualifier.
Ok, all of that aside(yes I ramble, yes I am working on that) I am excited for the inevitable full release. (sounds like a line from Idiocracy).
I have limited time in which I can play games these days, husband and father who works full time and still tries to get out of the house 2-3 times a week for anything. Meaning the 2-4 hours a night at best I can eek out have already culminated in around 60 hours of game play in just a few weeks. Translation Kenshi is the only game I am playing these days. I purchased D.D.O.S. 2 and played maybe 10 hours of that before I found myself back with Kenshi.
Bla bla bla, thats me.
