So have any of you ever been in one? We just got a tremor here and its sparked my interest to see if you guys have ever been in a earthquake.

Nope, Earthquakes around here in the mid canadian shield are extremely unlikley. Tornados are rare too. Wind/Rain storms are the worst thing around here most years.

only minor ones, luckily. barely felt them. my mom was in a big one though.

Only a minor one. I was trying to sleep one night and then my room felt like it was shaking (almost shivering), my first thought was WTF.
Illinois really isn't known to have earthquakes.

There was one last night where i live ( Melbourne ). It was a small one, 5.4 on the scale.
