Its my birthday: woot woot

Except there is a typhoon going through now so someone is sitting at home on the computer instead and hoping the river stops flooding soon.
Best thing about my birthday: today is the summer solstice bitches!!!! Longest day of the year.
Worst thing about my birthday: I normally live in the southern hemisphere which makes it the winter solstice and the shortest day of the year
Why I don't really care: it only affects daylight hours and the actual 24 hour day length doesn't change.
Also, why yes, I have been drinking. What else is there to do on a birthday while trapped in by a typhoon?

Beer of choice.....dry beers normally. Being in Japan for the last year or so means that my choices have been quite limited. Local 'beers' often aren't beers at all and imports are rare in many cases. But I also quite like largers such as Carlsberg and other 'lighter' drinks. Full strength of course but not thick, heavy beers like a guinness or those other irish ones. In general I like lighter coloured drinks with a good balance between hops and malt.
Back in Australia where I live is very hot so often mexican beers are quite popular since ones like Corona are very watery and easy to drink in the heat. I guess it just depends on what i feel like at any given day.
EDIT: And for the record, we don't drink Fosters in Australia. Most of my american and british mates in japan think that Aussies drink nothing but fosters.

fosters is bleh...
Rolling Rock is my beer of choice. it has a smooth feel to it and kind of a citrusish taste. but not over powering. goes down waaaay too easy.
for darker beers its shiner bock (i am from texas after all)
ales are great for a change. New Castle is so good... like candy even. and boddingtons (ive only had this from a keg though. not sure how it fares in a can.)
if i am just going light (other than rolling rock) its bud light (second choice is miller light). i prefer it over other american light beers. coors is just plan horrible.
i read an article about different beers (domestic and import) from small breweries but i lost it! they had some highly rated canned beers...
