Though I disagree about the pictures belief of goatees, I say it is about time we have such a topic.

Also my characters need beards.

I sadly just shaved mine today. It's been windy and was annoying the fuck out of me. Back to the old stubble again.

I have a few stray hairs on my chin and upper lip, the mighty beard has yet to grow!

I used to have a beard but I got to looking at it one day and decided it was grotesque. I keep some stubble these days to stop from looking like a teenagers.

Beards are meant for male-male interaction hence majority of males like beards and majority of females (varying in some lcoations) dislike beards. head (Scalp) hair on the other hand is for male-female interaction since it can be used generally to judge fertility, DNA and age.
Now that where not primitive man, beards don't have any concrete purpose anymore but Psychology(Respect). Beards are just another part of human evolution falling behind social evolution, the image you posted would be a good argument. As for myself, I dislike beards, I dislike all hair but on the top of the head/scalp/eyebrows.
