This guy is trying to start a company to make bicycles out of cardboard. He actually hopes that one day cars and planes can use the same materials.

Great ecological idea. And pretty working it seems too. And costs 10$ to make? O.o
Only problem is, if it ever gets to mass production/stores all over the world, stuff that cheap will be made in sweatshops in Thailand or China by 6 years old children.

But planes and cars??? The cost of vehicles has actually increased, and yet the materials have become thinner and thinner. (Obviously to increase gas mileage, however one accident and the vehicle is scrap). As for planes, no way in hell (Though the 787 Dreamliner is now mostly made out of plastic (Carbide?))

Very interesting! I'll admit i didn't watch the whole video as the presidential debate for the US is live atm but did it mention his possess at all besides the fact that the creator wasn't sharing how they were made?
the reason i ask is i hope the process doesn't produce something toxic or environmentaly harmful

If I recall, the creator used some type of coating composed of recycled plastic.

Water resistant yes. Collision resistant, probably not. Can it hold a fat person going 50mph down a steep slope, who wants to find out?

I'm going to hell for this
There is something good in low collision resistant. If they make planes out of cardboard, high buildings will be safe.

Military planes would not be made of cardboard, and the civilian planes can contain hidden explosives.Santaissick said:

Also how would the plane hold four heavy jet engines?

They craft the planes by folding and creasing the material multiple times. One giant paper air plane, the most fuel efficient of its class.
