Eclipse
Well, it is about 3 hours until the eclipse here in Cairns and the weather looks cloudy and shit. I hope it clears up or I will be a disappointed little camper. But probably not as disappointed as the ~10 000 people who have paid loads of money to come this far.

If it wasn't snowing I'd look out for it... and it also doesn't help that I'm on the far side of planet Earth.

It. Was. Awesome.
As in, it was possibly the most incredible and somehow eerie thing I have seen in my whole life. During the total eclipse part you could look at it with your naked eye. It gave off this weird whitish colour on the edges and was really cool looking; like a giant hole in the sky. I am still lost for words on how to describe it.
Also, none of the photo's turned out. So tough luck for you guys. You could google it though.

Indeed, very amazing. I as out in the middle of the ocean at the time so it had a very isolated feel to it.
Also, all the photo's on google don't seem to catch the look very well. Maybe my memory is making it look better in my head but from what i remember the light was a really weird colour since it was the glow of the corona rather than actual sunlight coming in. but all the photo's I've seen on the net look like the same colour as the normal sun with that whitish/yellowish hue. Who knows, but I'm very happy with what I saw.
Was anyone else on these forums in Australia at this time?
