Am I the only one who sees this price? If not, am I the only one who thinks this is absolutely INSANE?

I am dumbfounded by this. My. Fucking. Christ. An electronic copy of a game. They have virtually NO distribution costs except for the sales percentage steam takes and the bandwidth to upload it.

This is also a game that they received over $2.2 MILLION US dollars for via kickstarter. There was essentially no initial setup cost for this project that wasn't covered by that amount.




I am just disgusted by this. I don't pirate. I think pirating is bad and often buy multiple copies of games I really like to try and offset some of the loss the companies must feel. But, somehow I can see WHY some people choose to. This massive cost sickens me. I can't say anymore, I'm speechless and would only repeat myself. Please tell me someone else here thinks this pricing is madness also.

You see Mr. Blxz, Armageddon used to cost a lot more (what with buying all of those ICBMS and warheads) but thanks to a mass production and cost reduction, you too can cause Armageddon for as low as 89.99!!

Kickstarter, Early Access and the Price
June 13th, 2013

Our pricing for this stage of early access was determined by our Kickstarter. The stages of our early access for ALL users, which was determined during our Kickstarter, is:

June through August: $90 for early alpha access, during the time where we're still locking down features and making tweaks to the flow of the game. This access is permanent access - you will be able to play through alpha, beta and on through retail. (Galactic Edition Equivalent with all addons)

September through November: $60 for beta access. The game will be much more complete at this time, but with a lot of balance work still to do and more optimizations to get it working on as many systems as possible. Same as above, this is beta and turns into a retail version on launch. (Warfare edition equivalent with all addons)

Retail: December 2013 (Combat edition equivalent)

This is the pricing determined over a year ago. Our Kickstarter set these levels, and while we understand people may not like it, it's the decision we had to make.

But that is the schedule if you want to wait until the price drops to a level you're more comfortable with.

Paying more for early access is quite common for kickstarter projects i think. But the price seems really over the top. I paid 30usd for 1 copy of stonehearth + early access (half a year early or such) (+ a free release copy).

The name "pirating" gives it a nice ring but it's basically stealing... you don't go to a shop and take what you want without paying, but when you are at home in front of your PC it suddenly seems alright...

I bought 5 starcraft copies , pirating is bad, more so because it pushes devs/publishers to only release rehashes of call of duty.

Well, their idea worked because for the first few days, it was the second best selling game on steam! I think its still up there on the list last time i checked as well!

I have no more than 2 copies of a variety of things that I've bought (more do to giveaways but they don't count).

Rome total war, KOTOR, KOTOR 2, Europa Universalis 2 and 3, Dawn of War 1 and expansions, Aquanox, Caesar 2, 3, 4, Pharoah, Emperor, Crusader Kings 1, Assassins Creed 1, Cave Story, Deus Ex, Oblivion, Europa Universalis Rome, The Guild 2, Jagged Alliance 2, Mount and blade, hegemony Gold, The entire Oddworld Series, Port Royal 1 and 2, Shadowgrounds, Stardrive, Supreme Commander, Towns (which sucks. I hate you towns), Victoria, X3, Mechcommander 1, Theme hospital, Conquest: frontier Wars, Constructor, Diablo 2, Distant Worlds, Empire Earth, Fallout 1, 2 and tactics, Hearts of Iron 3, Perimieter, UFO: Afterligh, Aftershock and Aftermath.

OMG. I didn't realise it was so bad until I went through my steam list and 'Other Games' folder. There might even be more sitting around in physical cd's. I'm horrified by my double spending antics. I kinda wish i didn't go through that now, I can only sit here and think about all the wasted money, except that I probably bought most of these online while living overseas and becasue I wanted to play them IMMEDIATELY....so I guess thats ok.

Not sure, I have a notepad file on my desktop that says "spare kenshi key" but I don't know how or where I got it. I sure as hell only paid for one so I can't count kenshi on that list....unless i got drunk one night and bought another copy for some reason.
