Lo-Fi Games

Hello again!

Last year I gave 2 keys for those who had been very naughty or very nice and shared their stories on the forums. Lots of progress was made during the year, Kenshi has gained huge amount of visibility and popularity, few big updates were released, even bigger update is just about to be published and the game is looking better than ever. I'm still willing to support the development of this amazing game so I want to make something similar this year as well.

After that unbelievably well made and thrilling introduction, it's time for business.

I'm giving away one CD Key and I'll try to give it around Christmas. The winner will also get a copy of official Kenshi Soundtrack provided by awesome Kole Hicks! The even official-er audio designer of Kenshi. So you are actually getting two prizes by winning only one competition. Isn't that convenient! The winner will be announced on the forums and the CD Key is given via Private Message. If you want to take part, you are going to need little creativity, artistic eye and OH FOR PASTRIES SAKE!!!!!

Post your Fan Art on this thread or, if you prefer, to /r/Kenshi or add a link to page showing your thingy. IMPORTANT: Make sure to give your work a name so it can be easily recognized. Nameless works are not accepted to participate. Only one work/person.

Everything needs to somehow relate to Kenshi but otherwise the artist can express him/herself pretty freely. You can use your imagination, meaning it can be a picture, painting, photograph, cartoon strip, piece of background music, statue, Chuck Norris in straw hat, architecture, short movie, full length written opera or anything in between and more!

The winner will be chosen by voting! In case we get too much participants for everyone to handle, I will tyrannically choose the finalists and the vote will be arranged among those.

Anyone can participate and don't worry if you already have the game, you can always give the second key for someone you love for Christmas present or SMTHG. There's no better gift! Right?

I'm really looking for to see what you have/will make. Anyways, for further questions, feel free to ask!

If I had any artistical talent I'd participate, but alas nobody understands the genius of my art. I guess I'll still try to cook sth up this time around, voting's also fun

I still did not read this because at the moment i cannot, but once i can i will do and maybe join in just for the fun xD, i suck at art .

I suck at art too (i guess ) but that won´t stop me from join in just for the fun, unless Santa says i am too bad and gives me a cold no , or coal...

same here, my tablet is apparently "sort of" working, the brush size goes all funky sometimes and the pen itself is screwed up, either way, i'll join up the fun, do I post it here or on /r/kenshi?

I use my Samsung Galaxy Note to draw him, he's called the peasant.

Nice arts. I'll try to post something too, but be advised - it can contain a lot of strange things and may cause large amounts of painful laugh

Hi again

I do not have skills required to draw as cool as you guys, but I'll try to provide you with some fun anyway. I've figured out that with my low drawing skill I can still write some nice story. Adding music will also be good - at the beginning of some sections I'll paste link to music or image, so play it in background (not too loud) and try to read my story at the same time (URL is added to the section BELOW it - first goes URL, than the section). Same with images - every one is connected to the section below.

So... here it comes!


Kenshi The Warbringer

Kenshi had large family. He lived with his grandparents, mom, dad and also brothers and sisters. They had a little farm, just outside town. They worked hard, from dawn till dusk, as they wanted to move into the city - bandits raided farms frequently, but high walls and skilled guards could protect them. They all herd stories about the Ol' World, peaceful and prosperous, where all men were equal. Few survivors of The Apocalypse were often telling some tales at local tavern, where traders and foreigners were buying them food and drinks just to listen about days before great war.

Kenshi was different than other teenagers. He practiced sword fighting on training dummies every day. He spent many hours just meditating, trying to focus on his exercises, but he also aksed himself many questions: "why do we live?", "where am I going in my life?".

One day some old man came to the farm. He was a pilgrim looking for some food and a place to sleep. Kenshi was a perceptive boy, so he immediatly saw rusty sword tied to man's robe. Pilgrim asked: "Are you afraid of an old man like me?" Boy answered "Not the posture, nor age decides of one's strength". Stranger was suprised that such words of wisdom came from a mouth of a teenager. He told Kenshi that he's a Sword Master and he's wanted by the army of his old landlord. From now on, master trained him.

Years after Kenshi became famous warrior himself. He was wandering, looking for bandits, he could kill them and gather bounty. He despised them. He never understood how a man can feed on other's hard work. From a nearby town he got information about some pack of criminals, just at the outskirts. They raided caravans, patrols, even woman and children.

Weather was bad, but it didn't disturbed him. "Even better" - he thought. He liked rain. It was a rare event on a desert.

He met them, as said, after few minutes of walking outside the gates. Just as predicted, they couldn't resist the temptation of robbing single man. It was easy. They did not understand it was too easy.

First, their leader tried to bully Kenshi. He threatend him, insulted him, even shouted at him. When this didn't work, he ordered his pack to attack.

When they were approaching fast, he hasn't moved a bit, just stood there. He started his battle meditation - a complete clearance of mind. He didn't think, just acted. He slowly unbuttoned his coat, pulling out his sword. When they reached him, he parried, using the force of blow to strike from other direction, cutting enemies ruthlessly. They were completely uprepaired for such resistance. They couldn't hit him, he was like a ghost. No emotions, just actions. After few moments it was over.

"Now - the proof" - said to himself. He was taking his time.

Some time later, he saw town walls and the gates, welcoming him in silence approval of his rightful deeds. Now he realised he wasn't cut single time. Again.

He was approaching police station. Guards looked at him with respect and, like everybody else, with fear. They let him in, waking the chief, who asked why did he came back so soon. "It is done", Kenshi replied. "All dead?! In just few hours?!" - chief couldn't believe what he herd. Bounty hunter put a sack on his desk. However it was raining outside, in weak light of candles chief saw that something was wrong with the coulour of this wet bag.

"Open it, than pay me what is mine" - said Kenshi. Few moments after, he left the building with earned bounty. Chief and some officers finally decided to open the sack. They couldn't sleep for the rest of the night, this view haunted them for many years after.

Again, he was on his endless journey, trying to make this world a little better place. For the sake of his murdered family.

A week after this story, he met another bandits. They tried to bully him. He slowly unbuttoned his coat...
