So, this is a thread where we can post our ideas and discuss them freely, no matter how ridiculous. *If this is in the wrong area, please move it to wherever. :) I have no idea if there is currently a similar thread dedicated to just this, since the search function isn't working for me at the moment. I've seen the "What do you want next" thread but I feel that is more for discussing the currently planned features from Chris, while this thread would be for us to discuss our own, creative, silly ideas.

SO, I guess I'll start off...
I think a deeper economy simulation experience would be nice to see; one that not only affects prices between towns but also population and inventory.
Maybe eventually have towns be able to be besieged, by bandits or random factions, or just towns become entirely abandoned for whatever reason.
It'd be interesting to have looting and ransacking from the NPCS (corpses, unconscious persons, and towns).
I'd also like to see hunger/thirst/sleep being further implemented as well for both npcs and players, though I have a feeling that's planned.

Also, killer chickens with laser eyes.

what about....trains???? would open up a way of faster transport through a 400 square km map! Also you could do missions of protecting a train from bandits OR be the bandits!!! Maybe only the most prosperous of towns have a station...or with the right funding you could make your favorite town or your own town prosperous through the amount of trade that trains would bring! :D seeing that there is going to be a water/sea at some point...ships and ports too!!

In my opinion trains would break the atmosphere of the game totally. Ninjas sitting on a train with their sword -.- + trading would be too easy. And there will be some kind of speed travel.

Yeah I remember reading somewhere he was going to have some sort of fast travel akin to fallout 3/skyrim but....I'd much rather have a morrowind style fast travel system. I also read somewhere that vehicles were mainly out of the equation due to the fact that they would or could break combat. Trains are on set courses though. They cannot go off their tracks and therefore would make them useless for combat. Their only purpose would be for travel and trading. And I do agree that trains would be hard to implement and balance so they didn't make trading TOO EASY. Trains could be ridiculously expensive so only the holy empire uses them or something. Your only contact with them early in the game would be to either defend them or raid them.

I saw that about fast travelling. But I have to admit I don't know about fast travelling in fallout 3 or morrowind. Maybe some kind soul could help me out on that one and explain little??<3<3

And the skyrim fast travel feels weird. Isn't it just point and click and you are there? It works with one playable dude but squad is different. What happens to others if you want one to fast travel? Will the time jump forward and your army has to survive on its own?

In Fallout 3 and Skyrim and Oblivion you can travel somewhere in an instant by just clicking on the POI icon on the map and clicking "ok". (Keep in mind you had to have traveled there once on foot first before the area was unlocked for fast travel) Time jumps forward to "emulate" how long it would have taken had you have walked there. In Morrowind this feature didn't exist yet. The only forms of travel were "explained travel" if you will. You could take a silk strider (Silk strider worked like trains. there were several "stations" throughout Morrowind at cities and you could only travel to those stations.) Another way was to use the Mage's guild's portals. These allowed you to travel to any other Mage Guild. A finally the Mark and recall spell. This spell allowed to mark a spot (only one) and you can recall yourself to that marked spot at any point.

Thanks :)

So... There will be no magic portals in Kenshi, because there will be no magic.
I'm not sure what are silk striders (train-like, got that) But if they are über advanced technology or monsters from depths of imagination to ride, I think we won't be seeing them either.

I really can't figure out reasonable way for fast travelling. Except 3x speed... And as someone said, it ruins the atmosphere and the rhythm of the game. It goes to travelling with 3x all the time like now =/

If you can get better idea, please tell :)

Well to clarify I only wanted the train-like way. I was not going for magic nor monsters from the depths of imagination nor über advanced technology. Was just using the mechanics of the silk striders as an example. Just steam engines for me! Anyways...I've been looking around and after playing the game. Are there any plans for roads in the game? Because that could also work very well. Your men could move a certain degree faster on roads and avoid wildlife but at the risk of running into more bandits. Having no trade routes in the game just seems kinda off to me. So hopefully Chris will add that into the game at some point before release. :D

Wild animals are in fact planned. Chris has mentioned no magic, faeries or elves...so mythical creatures might be out.

I think the player should be able to build a train and then be able to open a business allowing other people to use the train and making money off of it.. This way you have to work for the fast travel option.

chris has said no to any animal (execpt pack mule, which is prob another no) because they would tear up combat, the roads idea would be great.

Oh. I thought he said no to just mounts. Didn't know he said no to all creatures. What about ambient creatures and the farms? I'd assume that farms are going to have cows/pigs/chickens or whatever the equivalents of these are in his world.

Yeah that's pretty much where I was going with the train idea. As sort of an end game or near end game perk. Not something that a player could utilize early in the game. Like the player could be introduced to the idea of trains early in the game and strive to make or own a train as one of his/her goals.

He has said no to animal farms too. It even came up in the forums recently. Have a read through, you will find most questions that anyone is asking recently have come up many times before.

About the only truly original thing I have seen here in the last 2 months has been a suggestion to have 'health bars' on the medpacks so we can see how much is left in one pack at a glance. Everything else has been covered and either confirmed or denied already.

Ah ok. We should get a consolidated list of these things at some point. There is a list for current features why not for suggestions! Though...we would need someone to maintain it. heh. I do like lists though...lists and all their list-y-ness.

I.E.

Mounts - Denied
Farm animals - Denied
Health bars over medpacks - Suggested
Multiple Biomes - Confirmed

yeah most of what people have posted have already been talked about in the fourms (Execpt the medkit thing and mabye the grapple) or have already been planned, i really think people should CHECK THE FOURMS before they make thread (especially if the admins get pissed cause no one is listing to them). mask has made just made a thread for all the combat athestetics (sorry for grammar) which isn't need since every single thread is beening posted on and you can use the search engine to find the threads. sorry if i sound mean or something but the adamins have told us atleast 3 times to stop makeing new threads about stuff that isn't new. if you think of a new idea then make first use the search engine to see if there are any threads on it, and then check some threads just to make sure it isn't already talked about.

doing what mask did would have been very helpful if the topics said in his fourm wasn't so new and so easy to find.

Wellp. So much for me attempting to create a unified thread for people to post normal and bizarre ideas. Apparently no one really read or understood the exact point of this thread... :/ It doesn't matters if ideas posted have been confirmed or debunked, it's just a place where you can post whatever idea you think would be great in this potentially awesome game, regardless of how silly, and a place where we can discuss on those ideas.

Obviously, my starting ideas were simple and ones that had already been confirmed (which, of course, I wasn't aware of) but I was hoping someone with more creative ideas would come along and stem off it.
