Maybe have each faction having strongholds and have wars between them allowing players to be mercenaries?

I believe there has been plans from the start of development to add possibility to join armies of other factions.

The towns are planned to be randomly generated and the factions to war with each other. Also there is a mercenary guild faction, I do believe that Chris will implement the ability to join a faction.
