Joining a faction/group!

Say I don't want to lead a group. Say I want to join a faction instead. Say you go up to a recruiter for a group, and enlist you and your group, get a so and so payment weekly, and be assigned equipment. You'd be promoted by default every 5 months, and earlier if you perform some awesome super feat. And you and your group would auto-follow the patrol around killing bandits and rival factions and the likes, while having lessened relations with rival groups.
Sound good?
Just another idea.

There will be possibility to join a faction. There are already recruiters in the game and I think they might have some kind of connection. ;) But if your squad follows factions orders automatically, what is there left for player to do?
