Stealth - The Not So Amazing Way!!!
In a world with swords... and stuff there will be action, adventure and A COWARD WHO RUNS LIKE THE WIND, and that coward is a ninja. Now for the real part we all know that ambushes and midnight raids were an important part back then. Now I'm not talking about some ninja parkour movie because thats pretty rare, but more subtle nightime attacks aren't. It should work a little something like this, there are 6 factors that play an important role light, overall weight, skill, sound, party size and a bunch of bool factors now these are just to remain undetected. Imagine this you have 50 men 10 are elite and the rest fodder, you are assaulting a wealthy noble's estate. Your elites are wearing light clothes that offer little protection and are wielding a 1-handed crossbow. You send the fodder to the front gate to create a distraction that distracts the wall patrol. The elites sneak up the back wall and into the nobles house, because of the alert he is in a safe room. 1 of your men creates a distraction which makes the guard come out and check, he is silently dispatched with the crossbow. the safe room is the cellar which is barred shut. using a match and oil you light it on fire and kill the noble by burning him alive. Of course this is a little to epic but with the night system it could create a neat scenario. Chris could make it where your men need to sleep and if all members are dead/sleeping your vision goes black which would make patrols more important. I think a normal scenario would be your wondering the desert and come across an enemy caravan. Most of the men are sleeping. You are a humane player and knock out a patrol by going behind him, right-clicking and selecting knock out due to your high skill he is knocked out for a little bit. You see there transport thing majig and send one of your men to ride it (it's mechanincal) and ride away of course it wakes up the men because the sound was to high but its already to late and you make off with the loot. Now stealth in general is a big thing ranging from weapons to armor so if you feel I didn't cover something please mention it.
Could you give us a short version, please. I don't feel like reading that brick of text (no offence intended, I've done that myself too).
I'm all for a stealth system in the game. Would create a dynamic where you train scouts to spot ambushes, and get skilled at laying your own ambushes.

If you want to kill someone without taking blame, it'd be best to ambush them in the middle of the wasteland, where there are no witnesses (it could keep your relation with that faction intact).
The option of a surprise draw-cut could be very good, however. So, you might be able to walk up to a group in a city, then take out one enemy before the fight even starts, if they aren't alert and quick enough to avoid this.
