What id like to see in game is a building mode that would allow me to place a grid on an area via drag and drop, the grid would give me 2 options:

1- It would allow you to tell your PC to terraform the area by making it flat or adding cliffs and trenches.

2- It would allow you to build a more organized town by having building attached to squares on the grid so you'll have a single square between all of your houses instead of having 1 meter between the first 2 and 1.2 meters between the 2nd and 3rd houses, it will also help in organizing the placement of furniture.

3- allow us to save a blue print of a small town with a building cue so we can easily build a safe house in each region without having to plop down every single structure.

4- allow us to merge certain buildings by activating a magnetic "click that would stick the structures together without any walls between them.

I would like to see something like this too, being able to align my buildings and not have my ocd cause me to make everything just right would be swell.

Pretty sure there's another thread for this somewhere, but anyway, I disagree. Rather than forcing all buildings items onto a grid with predetermined square sizes, we should have a smart snap option. Like press a button to align an object to the nearest 45 degree angle, and to snap it to the grid. But just an optional thing, because it would suck to limit yourself to square building formations. Sometimes you still want those small angles or non-centered placement.

I never said anything about the grid being mandatory, if you want it just drag a box if not then just place buildings as we normally do.

Also added an extra point i forgot to put in.

Oh my mistake then. As long as it's not mandatory, I approve.

A good idea.

Just my opinion, but I've never had anything but negative experiences with auto-snap unless the map is a perfect, seamless and flat landscape, which Kenshi's is not.
