Given as how crashes are frequent, there are no permanent saves without a mod, and there are many crippling bugs, I should like to request an autosave feature which, every time player-set conditions are met, saves the game for me so that when I randomly crash I don't lose the 20k in scavenging I'm carrying to the nearest town.
Many thanks,

Periodic Saving
haha true well what i do now everytime i jump to another char i hit the F5 key
Well since the game can crash at any moment u could still loose stuff by autosaving, as u dont wanna autosave every 10 seconds either, which would slow the game down by alot...

I wouldn't do autosaving unless we had an extra save slog for it, preferably 2 where the autosave rotates which one it saves to. The reasoning is simply that when the game crashes while saving, bad things happen, like all NPCs disappearing from towns.

That was my understanding too. In fact, Mount & Blade offers a "realistic mode" where you can't quit without saving. When combined with the single-save per profile I think that's a fantastic way to force players to deal with the realism, should they choose it. The key, though, is that there are still multiple saves available in that you can have multiple characters. This way you get multiple experiences, concurrently if you like, but with the ensured consequences of the single save file mode.Tolwrath wrote:Actually, the single save slot was intended. Originally, it was to be autosave only with just the one slot, as a way to force players to live with whatever good or bad things happened.
