Trains, Horse carriage anything of sort that could be automated goods transfer on multiple outposts, for example if there is going to be location based resources you will need multiple outposts, also trains could add more life to economy based playing. They could be limited in size, carrying only few passengers, but some nevertheless. And where you build train stations you will start population boom on the area making your outposts economy boom. And of course train robberies :)

I hate to say it, but trains - like steam behemoths - sound freaking amazing. Definitely would add an interesting flair to the story that may never be fully told.

We may have robotics, but this is just too much... Kenshi woldn't be any longer that game where it's hard because it's not that simple. It wold make things WAY too easier and break for me the atmosphere.

I agree that trains would make this feel like the fringes of a civilization rather than the remains of a civilization. That being said, this game is ripe to be modded into a cowboy/western RPG/RTS with forts, cavalry, indians, and conquistadors etc. It would be a compelling mod, but best left a mod. For what its worth, Seven Samurai was a better film than the Magnificent Seven.

In one of the threads regarding the use of firearms, I said that guns didn't really fit with the whole setting Kenshi has and that if they were to be implemented, they'd have to be severely rare, almost impossible to get and little means to reproduce the rounds for them. It might have been - with strong emphasis on 'might' - to throw guns in, but even then, I would still prefer to stick to my blades, probably my bow even.

Trains I can safely say do not belong in Kenshi at all.

Trains could add an interesting mystique to the game, with a couple of caveats. For one thing, I would imagine that only one faction would have access to the trains and their tracks, so a train track running from say, Capital to Clownsteady to Bark could be interesting. Then you'd want to give players and the NPC faction the ability to damage the tracks, and have units specifically patrolling the tracks to check for damage. It would take a whole lot of effort to add all of that sort of thing to the game in a believable way, though. I don't see it happening, but it could be interesting I'll give you that.

I agree that it would be nice, however I also agree that it would take a lot away from the game, as a mod it has great potential, however as a core mechanic, it's just too lopsided...well in my opinion.
