Changing Characters Names

I noticed you cannot change the names of your men once you choose them but I feel like this would be a very simple feature to implement.

Is it planned for the future already? I would like to change names of my soldiers to show rank and develop a hierarchy within my town.

I would personally love a feature like this, as I suck with naming and generally hate having to give my character a name when I get them. If I could change name I could give him a fitting name ether related to what he do or simply when I figured something out.

I'd like that too. At the last few guys I recruited I didn't care for their names or looks and simply clicked through. Now I got three guys named "Dirt".

Completely agree. I really want to be able to name my characters based on military ranks, and other stuff like that.

So it seems like a feature everyone would enjoy, now if it could get some recognition from the dev, I do not know how often he checks up on these forums though.

Well I'm hoping they do it often because there are a ton of great feautre ideas and this one is a no-brainer!

Since the change of ones name is a legal matter ( Deed-Pole, and not nothing to do with doctors at all! ), one should approach the Police office in the nearest habitation that possesses a Police building to apply for the change of name, and whether it goes through or not might depend on some random factor or how important your character has become in that town. If it does go through, then a runner or the next trader caravan is given a copy of the deed with your character's old and new name on it ( Or rank as the case may be! ) and this message is passed on to every town and other habitation on vicinity by other messenger's who pick up the copy of the deed in last town or habitation that was visited by the previous runner. Providing the message has been delivered safely will determine the name of your character in that region. Old or new.
