Hello there
Since there will be differents races, I was thinking it'd be good to see different architecture types. For exemple, everything is asian-style based, but we could have differents materials based buildings, like wood, stone, iron, steel, etc... according to the biome and researches you do !
We could have some "tribal" towns, and "civilized" towns, for exemple. With different shapes for buildings.
It could bring some life in the world, but we should keep a baseline for the architecture to not denaturate the spirit of the game.
What do you think ?
Different architectures types (maybe a repost, if so, sorry)
I actaully don t see wehre the current architectual is asian based, but i do agree to see differences between the races builds, at least in the default town or the capitals of such race/faction.
It s Hbrown!! Gotta get some pies!

I think this is a really good idea.
i did start a similar topic but it was aimed at customizing mostly.
Someone said (Clawdius i think) something about there being more building materials in the future, not sure if this is confirmed or just some rambling.
With the differant designs for each race. Why stop there, Have differant designs for each faction.
This could let players choose if they wanted to research and copy another factions design or if they wanted to create their own designs.
if Chris wanted he could go into alot of detail with it and have the differant designs effecting towns differantly. For example round structures are able to withstand more punishment than square structures. A pretty looking castle certainly wouldnt scare weak people away, but if it looked menacing and dangerous...

Well, I think putting buildings according to a specific race could be hard, since you can take a multi-racial squad.
I was thinking more about researches kind. And I mistaken, the current architecture isn't asian based, I was talking about the one in wood which could be added. Even if I'm not really into asian stuff, seeing the possibility to construct different types of building could be cool.
We could also build tribal huts, based on wood a wheat or something, or stuff like that

i dont think it would be that hard at all. All you really need is to have say a certain faction being made entirely of a single race. Im sure the dust bandits are going to become "tribal" and the Robot race that Chris mentioned will have its own faction.Kehlian wrote:Well, I think putting buildings according to a specific race could be hard, since you can take a multi-racial squad
I did mean that you can research each differant type, just that each faction or race has its own type that they like to use. Think of it like each country having their own flag and building designs.
Buildings didnt always look the same in every country like today, each country came up with their own style based on what they have available to them and there culture/religion.
