I think we should be able to find super bad ass technologies, and have to train our best and brightest people a long time to use it but Id like
-Full cybernetics, like a puppet man station, and to find this technology you have to go into danger zones or steal from the empire or whatever. Like, imagine taking your best fighter who died and taking his brain and putting it into a puppet body, now he lives again! You can also have practicing such technologies make you enemies of certain factions, like the Holy council would just become enemies as this is blasphemous. But if there was a science group of shady business men (Umbrella Corporation) they would now try to ally themselves with you and even steal or buy your technologies. (or even trade better stuff, like nano/digital implants (subdermal)) Or even infect your town with a virus to kill you off and take it by force. Random awesome events like that!
- Abandoned bunkers, someone told me that eventually you'll have danger zones, radiation, fallout, toxic gasses, what have you, wild beasts, I think in these zones bunker buildings that hold bad ass tech and are heavily fortified and maybe need a tech specialist to hack into levels of should be there.
Could found anything! maybe even cryotubes with people from before the fall!!! OR MECHS!!!!! YEAAAAH!!!!
-Mechs, giant robot steam engines of war. Have to be maintained and could explode by inexperienced pilots... so be warned.. (Sand biomes probably jack with em terrible too, should be able to modify them with like sand skis and stuff)
-If you did add vehicles, or weaponized vehicles, add the ability to mod these vehicles, Sandboats with like improved sand skis and sails, (just add slotted inventory system like you got now, but only someone with enough tech and science knowledge could isntall stuff depending on the level of the technology, like a carpenter could probably handle a boat but a science man for mechs or even a metal worker for handling steam punk mechs.)
-Whacky Encounters - This could be ANYTHING, But my main request are Time Travelers, these strange people could have lost technologies to trade with strange origins and outfits. Would be bad ass to get stuff like guns ammo rare metals, blueprints for making synthetic materials, factories, medicine, medical research stuff, blueprints for vehicles (if added), wow man would be amazing but also just stuff waay out there. Maybe even werewolves or night monsters whatever. Or even zombies!!
Aliens invasions! The Thing Monster! Dragons??? Monster Lizards! Flying sharks! Evil Magical Men! Strange and funny characters! Etc
last but not least -
GRAVEYARD! we should be able to bury our fallen heros or even put them in cryotubes if we got the tech to preserve their bodies for experiments. Would be awesome to have some genetic engineering for future soldiers. And then the Holy faction declares war on us!
Ah well dont hate me for my suggestions bros im just a man trying to suggest bad ess ideas!!

Actually, the game does not take place in a post apocalyptic world, but more medieval with a dash of steam punk. So no cybernetics, no bunkers, no aliens, no mechs, no vehicles, no time travelers, no cryotubes. This is Kenshi, not Fallout.

That is very well said.skynet464 wrote:This is Kenshi, not Fallout.
OP's ideas are pretty bad ass I can't deny that and some of them could fit in Kenshi pretty well with only a little adjustment. But it's not that much of a scifi game you might think or wish the game to be like. Big part of the "point" of the game is to be realistic. And fantasy has already been turned down pretty bad, and time travelers and aliens are not very far from fantasy.
PS. There used to be a thread where Chris said there will be infected zombie biome somewhere in the game and I don't remember anyone ever said those plans changing. So there's still pretty good chance for that. Personally I'm not fan of the zombie idea because I feel it would somewhat break the immersion. But I'm open to pretty much anything that adds more ways to capture/destroy towns or help in it or make it harder. So if it's made well, I don't mind.

What about the cannibal faction? Zombies against high level kenshi, the kenshi would dominate no problem(plank edge 5+unarmored corpses==slaughter), but cannibals, that's different. especially if they eat your guys and take your high level equipment...Santaissick wrote:That is very well said.skynet464 wrote:This is Kenshi, not Fallout.![]()

Also, we need to let people know about the mods section. AND about the forgotten construction set that everyone keeps forgetting about. When more people get the game, we will eventually get some awesome modders that will make the game more customizable for everyone.
Maybe the regular slowbrow zombies wouldn´t be a problem for a 9feet tall guy with a 5 edge, but who knows how Kenshi zombies would be, they could be different from what you know or expect, and even if they come in a large number even a 5 edge won´t get them all, by then you would have stamina and would need a break, or even if you go to their zone, need extra protection (gas mask) which who knows, could reduce your skills as you got limited vision and maybe reduce your breathing increasing your energy cost
.

I know there's some sort of limb replacement planned for severed limbs, and that there will be no vehicles.
Wacky encounters? Yes, please! How awesome would it be to find a group of half-bear people fighting off an army of zombies? Or a cult who *thinks* they have magical powers, and insists that they influence everything you do with their magic? Or maybe even a rare encounter where you find people hurling pastries at bee keepers? And, of course, I gotta have my catgirls.
Anything to keep the game from being too serious. Some light hearted fun is needed every now and then.

I stand corrected, I guess wacky encounters are a must and I like it because fallout had it now that I think about it. Like the crash landed star trek shuttle pod in the middle of the desert.Tolwrath wrote:I know there's some sort of limb replacement planned for severed limbs, and that there will be no vehicles.

I hope they expand on it like you said, I'd love to see villages of half-bear people afraid of zombies. Hahha, reminds me of Fable stuff now that I think about it.

Now that I think of it, whacky encounters sounds like awesome if they are implemented correctly. I didn't like all OPs ideas myself but I agree that game would be great if not made too "serious." It would keep it interesting longer because player wants to see what's yet to come.
People from different dimensions, Viking gods in human form, Mutant whit a foot growing from her left nostril... Also, drunken guy in a redwhite costume searching for a reindeer.

Kind of. On the other hand, this big corporate that forces all of its employees to take name "Mr. Floppy" doesn't sound too serious. I think the encounters are not supposed to be big part of the game but a single occasional NPC or little group comes across and you can have small conversation with them but nothing more. The main gameplay would still focus on the "serious" side of the game: Survival, diplomacy, outpost managing, fighting...skynet464 wrote:I dont know if "wacky encounters" are a good idea. THE FLOPPIES WILL RULE THE WORLD
(Whispering) they are here...........................
Why not mix a bit of both? Tho i also see mostly as serious, does not mean you can have 1 or 2 fun things, and even tho you say "Mr. Flop" as a joke thing, i see it serious, might be taken as a joke for outsiders, but for those in the company might be scary, who knows the real Mr. Floppy is a big Viking with a giant shield and hammer ready to punish any worker which goes off the line xD.Santaissick wrote:Kind of.
