feature requests index of forums

like i posted in another topic this is going to explain and outline what i mean by an index since none of the mods seem able/willing to merge and sticky some topics to make posting in the correct topic easier.

to clarify these can either be STICKIED topics so they stay AT THE TOP OF THE LIST or forums inside this one where people can post their topic ideas or search for a relevant one easier.

i will be doing these in the following format.
Title
desciption

BUILD FEEDBACK
this forum is for those who have compiled a large list of observasions suggestions reccomendations and requests throughout many hours of gameplay where the whole document is too vast to fit into any seperate category, this is for specific builds of the game and isnt intended for player to player responses to your feedback.

ARMAMENTS
armour weapons clothing and anything else that can be used to improve your performance in combnat

TECH
crafting research and buildings and various tech that makes an economy run

SURVIVAL
all things with the wilderness, transport, foraging, salvage, tracking, stealth etc if it happens outside of towns or outposts its probably in here

TRAVEL
simmialr to survival but much more specific to travel, be it in caravans, individually long distance sprinting, with pack animals or livestock. it goes in here

PLAYER/CHARACTER
everything to do with character's the features for the players and the mechanics behind them if its to do with the player and or characters specifically it goes in here

GAME
system specific features such as options ui optimization engine or anything else that isnt specific to gameplay itself goes in here

CONSTRUCTION
specific to towns outposts and anyhting else you build it goes into here, some overlapping with tech so to specify if its to do with actually building it and the town/outpost it goes here if its to do with the requsites or the work behind it it goes into tech

FACTIONS
fairly self expalnitory really, if its a faction, politics, or town to town interactions it goes here this also covers quests

ECONOMY
specific to the ingame economy fairly general and mostly unseen mechanics but if its to do specific to how money flows, supply and demand it goes here

COMBAT
specific to combat mechanics if its to do with fihgting put it here

SKILLS
simmilar to character and combat but specific to skills i felt this needs its own section

MAP/ENVIRONMENTAL
self explainitory if its the map or the area and what not it goes here

I would say something about how we already have this, but considering it's been abandoned and is no longer updated... I'll just have to wish you luck instead.

there was a single topic with links to a crazy long list of topics to cover every possible area but that ISNT what this is, this is differant andsince there is no actual sorting or filtering toi shuffle all the topics of a general type into a singhle subforum yet i think its a safe bet to say it hasnt been done before, also i can do this myself if im given access to the admin control panel

It could be something as simple as parent-child forum boards. It could be broken into all manner of combinations of organization, but until this happens, I will continue my vigilance in resurrecting old requests for all to see. :p
I have adapted to the current organization of threads, but I would have to agree that its nothing more than a most-recently-used system.

mostly because Admin don't have access to create sub forums. Only one we know has control over that would be Chris.
I have thought of making sub forums in the past to help people find stuff easier. and im sure im not the only Admin or user here who has thought of it, so the idea is not original. its just currently not possible to implement.

Right now the system works, its not perfect but there is no perfect set up either.

then do the next best thing and sticky the topics most appropriate to cover the sections so their always on top of the list

it would take up the first 3 pages or more of the Feature Request forum.
and most people do not look past the first or second page at most.

Im not gonna push everyones ideas into a few topics located in a general sense of the request because then those topics would become monsters. with about 15 or more pages to each one.

the most effective way as i said before is to use search.
then post in a relevant topic of the idea.

Unless Chris takes time from programing the game to restructure the forums to what you think they should be. ( if its even possible )This is more or less a dead topic, because there is no way to change it based on your ideas.

i've admined forums of this format before its 15 minutes work at most to add the subforums, and judging form the way your wording things im gonna say its safe to say youve never built a website before its quite a simple thing to add forum within a forum.

besides i wasent saying sticky every single possible avenue of request more the core types like adressed here and leave the mosre esoteric ones as is that way you lower the time spent for both chris and requestee for example a "game mechanics" topic covers everything not directly ingame in a nice packagfe without spawning 15 million pages since most will be options or ui requests but meh you seem pretty steadfast and determined not to do any work you dont absolutely needed (not a mod or anything so i dont know what else you do, working form what i can see) so i'll just give up offering watys to streamline things

oh also no way to change things? i've already offered like three ways of doing it that i KNOW work and is possible since i've done it myself on my own websites (while they were active) also please dont try and insinuate that i "think i know whats best for the website" if i did i would have worded things MUCH differantly at most i have been giving options and/or suggestions emphasised by the fact its in the requests section

also ima drop this if chris see's it he'll know whether or not its worth putting in place or not, he may have a better plan for it already for i know

Now I am asking for this thread to be closed this forum is for features in game and this is pointless for this forum you want to pitch these pm Chris but remember that THIS ISN'T YOUR WEBSITE OP you do NOT make the decisions here so leave it at that.

wow you are really late to this party also i never said nor do i assume to know what "is best for the website" so the fact your being so arrogant to push such an assumption upon my suggestion is very pretensious, however having created and managed my own forums like this before i know form experience that some form of rudimentry indexing does improve navigation and as has been pointed out there have been a number of strides for this both pressed upon the postee's and the mods, i am merely posting foreward one of a few ways that i know have worked for me as an additional option to chris.

know i said that i'd drop this but i just cant help pulling apart posts from people whgo like to climb on highground of a already closed discussion, oh and fyi if you wanna be on the winning highground fo a discussion either a: go make your own topic or b: go join a discussion thats still got some life in it
