I know it's cute that we bang on the lab desk to do research and we bang on plants to make them grow. However, i think it would be nice if we have different animations for each task? Even better, perhaps we need to equip a hoe in the primary item slot in order to farm? A pickaxe in order to mine?
In fact, if we do that we don't even need to have different animations for the task, just have the tool visually in our hands to be able to do the work (Though it would make me happy if each action was distinct).
Plus, it would be cool to kill a man with a hoe.
Thanks.

hmmmm
this is interesting, and opens up a whole new can of worms.
Edge VI tools. Those would trade for a lot. Those would arguably be worth more then weapons. They would have a low damage value, but at the same time, have skill modifiers.
then we can have them as hackers too, and this would fit in with the game. Like a rice farmer with a sickle, defending his farm from bandits. I can see the starving bandits as displaced farmers, and instead of armed with stupid ass metal rebar, armed with hand sickles, hammers, pitchforks, and other peasant weapons
It would also make the shed a useful building again, as we could have a tool shed by the farms.

depends on how 'modern' the game permits.
it seems like its going for a Naruto-ish verse where we have somethings modernish , and other things more Feudal Japan.
i assume most of the animations are just placeholders while they work on other things.
hopefully we'll have enough animations to make the game feel more alive. and keep us interested. watching people hammer on everything isn't very interesting. ^.^

Could you imagine how neat, multi tool farming would be? Like instead of building materials for a small farm, you would take a hoe/plow, then plant seeds, then water the farm, then harvest with a sickle?
That would not just be fun to watch, but more realistic too.
And what if we had growth animations for all the farming stuff?
Granted, it would also take forever to get some wheat, and make some bread and rum....
Then again, it would also fix the economy some, as a few weeks of farming and making rum is all it takes to be a millionaire.

i don't mind the animations for farming an stuff but hopefully it'd be a bit more automated i'd hate to tell the character to go one by one picking things. perhaps it'd be part of the assigned job.
though kinda hope in the future the crops an stuff take longer to grow. to make having to kinda manage your food and making it possible with poor management to actually run out an require importation.
it would be nice also if when eating/drinking become a thing that a varied diet would be a thing. after all diets generally require eating more then one food to remain healthy. course you wouldn't die just eating one food , but those college people love telling us how we have to eat certain quantities to be healthy.
but being able to see the character properelly performing acts would be ideal to me. i get so tired of watching bland animations in other games >.> since these characters aren't directly controlled in there movements theres no reason they can't be programmed a bit more precisely.

This idea is amazing. I absolutely 100% support this idea of the hungry bandits being armed with tools. They should also be able to join groups together to create this big fracking horde. The starving horde. Awesome.philthymcnasty wrote:hmmmm

Yes please, all of this!
I'v thought about it a ton of times how i would love for each station/job to have it's own proper animation.
While this is of course a stretch for such a small team, i would also love it if the machines themselves were also animated and maybe have some proper interaction with the person working there(i.e. a weapon smith actually putting a raw piece of metal in the coal/furnace and after some time and banging with a hammer it turns into a weapon. Or a baker actually doing a pouring into a mold aniation and putting it into the oven.)
But yeah i agree with all the ideas being thrown around in this thread.
