[if this is already planned or was brought up somewhere, please forgive my carelessness and delete this]

So, i find grain silos somewhat unappropriate to some situations, where you, for instance, absolutely want a low-tech farm outpost. While it's nice piece of "hi" tech, i think there should be levels of the flour making process, much like with stone refinery and mines, or wells that becomes automatic at some point.

Stage one - manual mill that uses manpower or animal power to grind crops. Similar to those presented in Skyrim or Age of Empires 2, or even old-style "beat this pile with a stick untill it's bakeable" thing. Requires 1-2 unit to run, produces slow and has some wastes.
Stage two - windmill. Produces automatically when there's wind, faster then previous stage, when at max efficiency, wastes less.
Stage three - may be the current silo, which would demand electricity to run, and have top production rate, if power need is covered, very little wastes.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I would like to see something like this. Perhaps even make the current one the middle of the research tree. I'm sure that I have no clue how a grain silo really works(in game), and would have to have appropriate blueprints/know how to make more advanced ways of producing flour for baking.

It would be a lot faster for the devs(I imagine) if they simply added a model with an motor attached instead of making all the new buildings from scratch though.
