Our body would be using all of the muscle before simply dying outright. I know you lose stats temporarily when hunger goes down, but this would allow for people with higher strength to live longer- just in case. On a side note the rate at which strength drains could be based on survival skill (if you plan on having it do stuff like this that is)

As you've said yourself, stats drain is already in place, and as far as mechanics goes, zero hunger means total exhaustion, after all possible body fat and muscles have been eaten away by a starving body.
I do not think that it really takes that much longer for a more muscular or plumpier person to die out of starvation as well. Muscles degrade simply because they're not provided with all of the essential rocks and minerals, not because body consumes them to stay alive, and fat just does not contain all of those vital substances. I might be wrong on that last sentance, so if anyone has any precise information, please, correct me.

I think the op wants permanent stat reduction at 0 nutrition instead of death. I'm not a fan of it but meh.

It should be noted that if you are obese enough and in a situation where you cannot find potassium and sodium you are probably more likely to die from heart/kidney/other organ failure than starvation. Probably.
Fat is your where your body store everything it cannot use immediately, but maybe I'm misunderstanding your question?fat just does not contain all of those vital substances
This was found during a quick googling and might be relevant.Jelena Surjanac, studied at University of Belgrade wrote: Answered Nov 29, 2014

Let's do a math:
1. Average man needs BMR (basic metabolic rate) 2000kcal per day.
2. One 1kg of fat is 7500kcal.
3. Average size person should have less than (depends on years) 30% of fat.
If person has 50% fat, and 100kg, that means 50kg of fat. One needs around 4 to 5% min to survive, so rest body can burn.
Let say we have two men:
First has 30% fat and second has 50% fat - both 100kg.
One has 30kg of fat other 50.
Each day 2000kcal - 267g of fat.
So first one will live 30kg/266g = 113 days
Second one will live 50kg/266g = 187 days

I haven't played in a few weeks.
- Isn't 0-100 you starving and thus eating muscle and any left fat (your person is getting weaker during this time in stats, not permanently, but still).
-101-300 is "healthy and not starving.
--- Or was it 200-300 healthy,
--- and 101-200 they are complaining about hunger while not suffering consequences.

The original ideas was to have strength permanently lowered, not just being too weak to use your strength (which is what happens now) And your body will use your muscle before fat if you are hungry, I know that for a fact.
