The world of Kenshi is pretty damned big, and when your just starting out watching the screen while you wait for you character to wake up is inevitable, though in terms of making money your choices at the start are fairly limited in my opinion, mining, or luring enemies to town guards so you can sell the loot from them, seems a little cheap to me, but my idea is, traders frequently travel around, town to town, I think it would be good to have a mercenary contract with them to escort the caravan from town to town, I'm not saying have them pay you thousands just scale it based on distance, travelled, other contracts could brighten up a " solo" character playthrough too, I'm hoping soon they give you a start or option to join a faction not just ally with them

Well, what's stopping you from just following them around and enjoying your finders keepers looting rights? After all, who would hand out a bodyguard contract to a random nobody?

You got me stumped there, though alas my point still stands being would be nice to have more options for a solo character play through.
