Inner wall junctions?

I have been trying for days to build THE single best fortress with the least amount of defense work required but for that i need my peeps to walk the walls a lot but since you can only make a one way wall section to walk on that is nearly impossible. So i was wondering if it be possible to implement innerwall sections with no protection part or even static ones that have more than 2 connection nodes to make a walkway.

Currently i have a fortress that can be defended by only two people. Ofcourse i do have a mod that adds like 300 HP to the game so that does help too and it probably will be pretty breachable once they add in breachable walls. But it's great for now.

It would also make it much safer from wall to wall. Because now you literally have to leave the first line via the ground and then walk through the second gate to get in the backlines.
