My suggestion is to make buildings have internal doors, some sort of barrier that a storming intruder have to work their way trough. When constructing outposts out in the wild a single building is often preferred, but it should be defendable. Perhaps inside the hallway is a stairway blocked of by a reinforced gate protecting a balcony with a crossbow turret. Perhaps even more complicated solutions, prolonging a siege. It could make raiding more difficult for the player when exploring fortified positions on desolate locations, prolonging the overall gaming experience.
The pathfinding in Kenshi 1 have difficulty handling doorways, and characters sometimes get stuck inside buildings when automated. This is a concern because the AI is always on auto, making a maze of defenses inside a large building guarantee that the attacking AI would get stuck. However now that Kenshi 2 would use Recast, updated nawmesh system, maybe it would be possible somehow.
Kenshi 2 Strongholds utilizing Recast AI system
Can recast allow for more then one entrance?
Cause I would like to see that ability to climb in windows or up walls to enter from the roof.
Also I should be able to peek in doors or windows to see what is happening inside so I can decide where to enter from.
