All my characters carry backpacks around for obvious reasons. Before I get in to a fight I like to place my characters backpacks in to their inventories so that their attack and dodge skills aren't hindered. It started out easy with just two characters. Press I, Right click on the backpack.
Now I'm at a measly 13 characters and it takes some time to do it with them also spread over 3 squads. I would love to have a key bind that I can use to toggle a squad or characters backpack from their back to their inventory (If there is space) and back again after the fight.
This would be most valuable for massive squads.
Thanks
Hotkey to place squads/characters backpack in their inventory
cool idea, but I have two questions.
1. what happens if your inventory is full? back pack falls to the ground? Nothing?
2. check your stats, if you have a full backpack and put it into your inventory, generally you become so encumbered that your stats fall below what they would be if you keep your back pack on. (unless you are carrying a lot of light stuff) If that's going to be the case would you want them to make the decision to keep their backpacks on?

To me this seems like a request to have a button for exploiting a certain game mechanic. Imo it should be impossible to pack backpacks into the main inventory, since it doesn't make any sense. Where are you gonna put your backpack? your cargo pants?
I get what your problem is tho, but a better solution would be if the game was to reduce/ignore negative effects of a backpack when it is empty. Or gradually impose said negative effects according to the percentage of occupied space in the backpack.

I was thinking that in a fight you wouldn't store your back pack, you would drop it. I like a key that would drop the backpack on the ground and let you fight without it, then hit the key again and you will automatically pick it up. But while it's on the ground it's fair game for bandits to loot or just grab it and run. You have to make the call. Drop it to fight Gutters, keep it on when you fight bandits.
It would also make for a diversion if you were trying to outrun them, you could drop it on the ground and hopefully they would go for it not you.
