iSuck's location status changed to say 14 now, it used to be 13. Amusingly, I remember playing Zelda: Link to the Past before I could read. I had to get my dad to read the dialog for me.

Each time you derail a thread a train filled with puppies does the same.

+1 on the movement order via map, that shouldn't even need to be suggested, nearly every game using a map also has this. (For a reason I assume)

I dislike the term "fast travel" in this context. Always makes me think of click on some spot on the map and be there instantaneous. If travelling needs some speeding up, I'd rather see mounts of some sort.

Actually i think that's what we mean't by fast travel, teleporting to the location.

Which would be very weird in a game like this i think.

Map travel doesn't equal fast travel, I think.

I'm all for a system that allows me to click on a certain part of the map and tell my squad to go there. That would make controlling multiple groups much easier.

But yeah, fast travel doesn't make sense in a game like this.

Have we mentioned the idea of being able to zoom in on the map?

Because if not, I would love that feature to death. Also, the map should be changed up a bit so I can better tell how I can get to a location (because the map as it is right now is a wee bit nonsensical; I can't fully comprehend which regions are impassable mountains and which are flatlands but coloured differently than the lowlands).

Uhm i dont have an answer but as the game isn't finished i would presume the map isn't either.
So i would tell you what i think is logical, i think the map will get better detail so it shows u better where u can cross or cant cross.

I think we have a map at this stage to give us a general idea where we are situated , and give us some sense of direction. even though its not Always as handy

Better a bad map then no map at all...

Offc beeing lost might give u opportunities u otherwise dont get or a horrific death ... hmmm

I dont know, I rather like the low-detail map. It makes it more "adventure" like when traveling to an unfamiliar location.

Someone here stated a cartography based map, to create your map from scratch.

Perhaps that could be partially implemented. You start off with the current map, and as you see more and more of the world, the exact physical lines of the map becomes more defined.

On topic:
Map travel is a definite yes.

A question we must ask: since the cities are planned to be randomly generated, is it possible/probable for the map itself to be randomly generated?

Tough to say. Obviously not right now as Chis has stated that it's even a pain for him to edit the map. Such a feature, however, would easily propel this game from 'epic' to 'best damn game ever!'
